THEY ARE GARBAGE 10/20/2010

Today was horrible I had to put my dog down..It was very tuff..Then they told me I had to pay before they would put her to sleep..I forgot my purse and credit cards..Well Shawn from billing came into the room and made me call my mom to get a credit card number they would not allow me to leave the dog there and call and pay for it..She had to make it even harder on me..They are thoughtless careless and garbage to me..I been going there for 11 years now and they treated me and my dog like trash when they did this to us today..My dog was so sick and dieing in my arms and they made her suffer even longer they did not care about my dog they cared about there MONEY and that is all they care about..I am looking for a new vet that cares about my dogs and not just for MONEY like them.. more

we (heart) limerick vet 5/27/2010

We love Limerick Vet!!! (and the doggies do too!) We have three rescued dogs that all have special needs - and the vets are great with them. Limerick Vet caters to our needs (bringing them in to the exame room one at a time, not touching our one dog's feet, ect) without hesitation and also with a smile. Well worth the cost of their care. They were also very compassionate when we lost two of our dogs last year. Both times sending hand written sympathy cards - a very nice thing to do for your patient. Thank you Limerick Vet more

LVH family of clients for 20 years 3/3/2010

We have been part of the LVH family of clients for two decades. We have seen many changes over the years. Many of the staff and vets have changed in that time also. Like most change some were welcomed and some were not so pleasant. I think that is part of life. Can't please everyone all the time. I would like to add, that I do believe that LVH do their best to meet the needs of all their clients, human and animal. You can request a vet of your choice when making an appointment. Their emergency services are a blessing and so welcome when needed. Their ambulance service efficient and valuable. I have found that if you do not agree or question treatment of any kind they are very good about discussion, explanation and alternatives if approached in a calm and logical manner. Over all I have been pleased with their service, care of our animal family and efforts for meeting our needs. Who likes high prices? surely there is a price to pay for the quality of environment, skilled care, more

Best Vets around, way too overpriced 2/23/2010

Well Koening is a slightly above average vet, however, Dr. Moesby, who is part of the practice, is the nicest, most personable, most competent veternarian I have ever seen. Ther is also a female Dr. there who is quite competent, and some of the support staff are just excellent. They have a few bad apples, but mostly the staff gets 8.5 out of 10. Quality of service also gets an 8.5 out of 10. However cost, well, they are way too expensive. Yes, you should have to pay for quality, but now that I have 5 cats, a dog and a foster cat, the fact they will not work with me hardly at all (I'm talking like a 5% discount for multiple pets, when I really make a scene, or a $10 break if I don't) has me really soured. They are the best around but they are just so aggregously<-sp, that it is just ludicrous. more

Unbelievably Incompetent! 10/21/2009

I adopted a dog from the local SPCA and he apparently had a number of food and environmental allergies.... Long story short, I systematically had him examined by almost very Vet in the hospital, $4,000, 8 different antihistamines and 6 months later of putting this poor guy through the ringer by systematically testing him for allergies, the best suggestion they had was to take him to a dermatologist to put him on customized suppression therapy injections for the rest of his life... I then went to a holistic Vet who did an allergy panel (only a blood test) for $350 which told me pretty much everything he was allergic too (it isn't all inclusive, but it is a great place to start), and with subtle changes to his diet and the new Vet's advice of giving him Benadryl when his allergies act up, he is in great shape today. These guys are so trained to make a buck that the simplest conclusion seemed to allude them all. One of them even said that I was lucky that Benadryl worked.... My response more

Absolutely Professional Vet's and Staff 10/9/2008

I have been going to Limerick for 12 years. I cannot say enough about their love and care of their clients. They treat all of our dogs like we were their only clients...their emergency service is top notch and will always serve you no matter what time of the day or night. They have 24 hour care and staff on duty. They do not send you to an expensive after hour emergency clinic. They provide a clean, safe, friendly, and knowledgable service at a reasonable price.\r Any health care for animals or humans is expensive and unfortunately must be passed on to the consumer, but you know that your family members are getting the specialized treatment they deserve. I CANNOT recommend this practice enough !\r I love Limerick Veterinary Hospital and all their doctors !!!!\r Nancy Ochse more

Finding a new VET! 10/8/2008

I HAD been going to LVH for 5 years, however I am now going elsewhere - they have increased the cost of checkups, and decreased the the level of care and commitment to animal health. Even after repeatedly asking to sync up my dog's vaccinations, which were days apart, they STILL forgot to give him one - however they continue to administer Kennel Cough which he does NOT need as he is NEVER boarded nor around other dogs - even though I specifically said NO to this vaccine - he got it anyway - and I HAD to pay for it. My dog suffers from seizures and allergies, and I repeatedly requested he NOT receive steroids to treat the allergies as they cause seizures, and what does the doctor prescribe - STEROIDS - they simply DO NOT LISTEN TO THEIR PATIENTS. Just as I am my children's only advocates, I am my dog's only advocate - and it pains me that I cannot trust his doctors. more

Your Pet's Best Friend 1/12/2008

I highly recommend this practice. I also highly recommend the lodging side, Happy Tails. The entire staff is concerned for your pet as if the pet were their own.\r \r Heartworm medicine? Don't you get immunized against disease? Wouldn't you want your pet to be protected against disease? Why not? Isn't your pet worth it?\r \r Cost? Perhaps they do cost more. I'm not sure as I've never compared prices. But I do know that the care my pets receive from everybody there is worth it!!! more

Lost the neighborhood touch 8/22/2006

Hi, here are some problems I have with LVH. They are very expensive. They really push the heartworm medication which is expensive and if you read up on it it may not be necessary. The last visit we paid by check, like we always do, and they asked for ID!! after coming there for 7 years!! You get a different doctor each visit. The one positive experience I had was the puppy party. It was fun and informative. PROS: location CONS: expensive, impersonal service, more

Take very good care of the animals 9/15/2005

My only complaint with the place is they are extremely expensive and their summer hours on Sundays need to be expanded so people can pick up their animals after 3pm. more
