OMG, I thought I had dealt with bad car dealerships in the past... these guys take the cake. I have had my SUV since 2009... yes it was used when I bought it... within 3 months of buying the car I needed 4 new tires (lesson learned... make sure you look at the tires, I assumed they would not sell me a car with totally worn down tires. When I asked about previous accident history, the salesman told me that he had checked Carfax and there were not accidents (3 years later, I find out that the entire front end of the car was totaled and had to be rebuilt)... when they say show me the Carfax... they literally mean put that paper in my hand.\r \r Now, when I purchased the car, I bought a warranty that covers ""everything except routine maintenance"". The first time I bring it in because my check engine light is on... oh I have no idea how that could happen, but we have dried it out and hopefully it will not happen again... that is $250 please...\r \r A few months later - same problem - hmmm, I don't know why it keeps doing this, but we dried out your spark plugs again, let us know if it keeps happening.... another $250 please\r A few months later, the same problem - you have a faulty seal and your spark plugs are full of water, but that replacing the seal around your hood is routine maintenance and not covered... mind you this is less than a year after I purchased the car... only $200 this time because it was raining so we could leave it outside to see if it was leaking...\r \r Last year, I had a problem with my anti-lock brakes.... finally something covered under my warranty... $100 please.\r \r Now, my car is not working and I am pretty sure my transmission is shot. I just received a call that they need to send it to another dealership to be looked at (my car is a Chevy, but I have to go to Latham Ford for the warranty). They call me and explain that I may be responsible for all the charges (very expensive) if some insurance adjuster decides that it isn't covered under my warranty, but they will not know until after the car is taken apart.\r \r Now, mind you that I understand the logic behind this. I did get frustrated and tried to explain to the Manager what my experience has been with them and about how I was lied to when the car was purchased... he COULD NOT CARE LESS... he told me that I bought a used car and these things happen. When I explained that I understand and the Salesman lied to me... he didn't even blink an eye... he said well we can't help what happened in the past, we can only deal with the present... REALLY, you don't care, or feel the need to maybe transfer me to the Sales Manager, when I tell you that your Salesman are lying to people??? Does it happen so often that it doesn't even make you take pause?? more

Bought a new 2012 Fiesta there. Problems with dealership have been as follows:\r \r 1) After second oil change, car had to be towed back to dealer because they didn’t put the new oil filter on correctly. Also, on several occasions they have overfilled the crankcase with approximately 1 quart oil. When I pointed this out they said it was normal to overfill….\r 2) Possibly related to the multiple oil overfills (and ergo excess oil burning) I mentioned in item #1 above, catalytic converter needed to be replaced.\r 3) Vent for manual transmission started leaking oil onto the cooling fan. I brought it to Latham Ford (again, like a fool) and was told that since I didn’t have all of my service performed there (I only did two engine oil changes myself after they couldn’t do it correctly as per item #1 above) the warranty would not cover potential transmission issues if I had changed the transmission oil or had it changed by a non-dealer. After explaining several times that I only have changed the oil myself, they kept repeating that if I touched the transmission, it wasn’t covered by the warranty. Got a very skanky and creepy feeling from them so I took my keys and left. Will bring to another dealer.\r \r I have the dealership documentation for most of items 1 and 2 above. Item 3 there is no documentation as I took my keys and left.\r \r Now, what the other commenter here said about the sales staff I agree with also. However, that may be the least of your problems if you go here.\r \r more

Slimy is the perfect term for this dealership. I would caution anyone going to Latham Ford.\r \r 1. Sales folks are very slippery. You are passed on to different salespersons if you try to negotiate. ""I need to check with my boss, then his boss, then his boss.""\r \r 2. Customer service is something out of Jerseylicious. There was an error on our title and it showed a lien despite the fact that we paid in full. My husband misplaced the title and I called to find out where to go from there. the woman immediately laughed and said..""Are you kidding me, you lost the title! I'm gonna have to call you back and figure what to do with this."" When I commented on her behavior after she called me back with even more attitude, she actually yelled at me. (Thankfully i have since located the title).\r \r 3. In a cash offer on a vehicle worth $15,000 they almost let us walk over $500. We were literally out the door when he followed us out still trying to make the deal. \r \r We should have recognized the red flags. As we left, my 10 year old daughter said. ""Mom you should never trust a guy with pointy shoes."" I should have listened to her. (He had on shiny leather brown pointy shoes that she hated)\r \r I give this dealership 2 stars only because our first salesperson was kind and was really trying to help us out. The rest of them are ""slimy"". My advice, stay clear. more

Best Service I ever had. 10/13/2009

I have bought and serviced my cars there for years. The service department is top notch. If you have a problem with them you need to look in the mirror they alaways bend over backwards to take care of me. I like the fact that the people have been there for years and know me by name. Keep up the good work Latham Staff. Pros: Friendly staff, shuttle to work Cons: parking lot too small more

DON'T BUY USED- RIP OFF 8/25/2009

Bought a used vehicle in March. That side of it was fine. A week later, things started going wrong, really wrong! Since then taken it back in over five times (under warranty, extended warranty). Brought the vehicle in yet again and it has been there for TWO WEEKS. The service department is unorganized and lacks any sort of communication skills. VERY disappointed in Latham Ford and will never buy from them again. more
