I'm the head of HR for a large corporation and were looking for a Casino Company to hold our Holiday party. I contacted several Companies, one being Big Eastern Casino. They did have a nice website, seemed professional, but still needed to make sure this was the right company to perform my big event. While researching, I ask the normal questions as to where their office was because I wanted to view their operation. Much to my surprise, their response was that they had no real office or showroom and their warehouse was a garage where they stored their equipment which was not at the same location as their office..They did invite me to their garage to view equipment but declined because I didnt think it was very professional. Also, because of our Company status, we needed and requested a W-9 from them. Finally, after 2 requests and when we did receive it .Much to my surprise.. A liitle Problem! The company name on my proposal didn't match the Corporate Company name on the requested official W-9 document ??? That corporate W-9 company was based in Florida and I was dealing with a company in NY???? Things started going through my head. Whats going on?? Wasnt sure what company I was dealing with??? Was I dealing with a Fla company or NY company???? Was my job was being subbed out ??? Their contact # was a 1-800 # ...Where was I calling??? Where were they really based?? Did they have insurance/ workmans comp/ licensed? If I had a possible problem where would I go to resolve it ??? Florida??? To many things going through my head... Sorry, This was all just to much for me since I had a lot riding on this event. I decided to pass on this company...
