My boyfriend and I had just moved to Tooele from out of state. Seeing that there were numerous Mexican restaraunts around, I was excited to try some good food. Since there are so many, they must be good right? \r
We walked in and there were not very many people there, it was a Saturday night, mind you. The lighting in the front of the restaraunt was very dim, and we were led to the left side, into a booth twards the back. Our waiter was younger, with a shaved head and facial piercings. He was not very friendly and when I told him that we had never been here, ""what would you recomend?"" he said: ""everything"". OK......\r
So looking at the menu the food sounded like it would be good, but the menu itself was filthy. The chips and salsa that they give you are nasty, and you have to pay for refills. I ordered the beef tacos with rice and beans. We waited a long time for our meals to come out and when it did and I tasted the ""authentic Mexican"" food, I couldn't even swallow it. The rice and beans were so bland, no flavor what so ever. The worst part were the beef tacos, the meat was very watery and did not have any seasoning on it. The water was dripping out of the hard taco shell.\r
I said ""I am not eating this."" My boyfriend went to talk to the manager, said we were not eating the food because it tasted so bad and all the manager offered was ""Ok. You don't have to pay for it, you can go."" The BF told him the problems we had with the food, the manager didn't care that his food was below sub-par.\r
I would not recomend this place to anyone, and I can't believe that when we mention our encounter with La Frontera to others, they say they love it! I have had real Mexican food and never tasted anything this bad. Taco Bell is better!
