L'Italia is one of the few upscale restaurants in the Staunton area. We have eaten there a few times for special occasions (most recently, on Valentine's Day!). On Tuesday nights they have a great jazz duo (guitar and singing) on the 4th floor of the restaurant. The dinner menu is expensive (for Staunton standards), but they serve great lunches at very affordable prices as well. The only item that I do not recommend is their Eggplant Parmesan. I typically love this dish, but it was very soggy when I got it at L'Italia. An item that I LOVE is their tomato and mozzarella salad...very tasty! more

The best place for a fancy dinner 7/20/2005

L'italia is the place to go if you have something to celebrate. You must make reservations and even then you may not get a table at the busy times of the year (graduation, parents weekend). The food here is phenomenal. Much bettet than the sister restaurant in Harrrisonburg. The service is what you would expect and the prices are the highest that you will pay in town. But it is worth the price a couple times a year. more
