If you want to spend a lot of money on mediocre food, go to Kyoto for dinner. The plus side is, you're paying for entertainment too. It's a Japanese restaurant by name, but the generic grilled entrees there pale in comparison to the Japanese food at more authentic restaurants like Little Tokyo.
That said, they do have a decent lunch menu - not too pricey.
I'd reccomend you try it once or twice for the novelty of the experience.
