Bought a used avalanche through them 1/16/2012

Bought a used avalanche through them and they promised to fix my broken radio and a knocking sound in the front right suspension. went back and the tech called me a liar. I went to les schwabs and it was a bad tie rod end. which is a safety issue that Kuni decided to sell with it anyways. Took them 4 months to get me a new radio that worked and when they sent it to me it was the wrong radio.Taji is a liar and a coward. He will never return my emails or calls. I would strongly avoid this place. And for the record, I have been in the car biz for over a decade. I went here because I thought they had a good reputation..not the case. more

Business as usual at Kuni... 9/16/2010

I used to work there. It's been a few years but it really sounds as though nothing has changed. They are really not afraid to reach inside your pocketbook at Kuni. I'll never forget- and I share the info whenever I get the chance, a Cadillac service advisor educating me about how business is conducted at Kuni. At my collision center customers request I took the car up to the Caddy service drive for requested repairs I questioned her about the exhorbitant expense for the repairs and she said- and I quote, ""Don't worry, our customers can afford it"". Sad. I worked in estimating and management at many different shops and I can say that Kuni is the most liberal with customers and insurers money. By far. Caveat Emptor. more

Has changed for the worse 12/23/2009

I took my wifes Z4 to the Kuni Collision Center December 8th and got an estimate for repair of $1114.00. This for minor damage to the front end. We told them we did not want to turn it in to our insurance and that we would be leaving for vaction on the 12th. They called my wife the next day and said it may be as much as $2000.00. When we returned to pick up the car on the 21st the bill was $3570.00. I have worked on and built cars all my life and I can tell you this was the classic body shop we found more damage when we took it apart. This was for very minor damage to the front of the car that seemed more in line with the original estimate than the final repair. They knew that there would be no insurance claim adjuster and that we were on vaction and unable to verify the added repairs. When my wife picked up the car she did not get 2 blocks before the coolant light came on. She took it back and waited another 1 1/2 hrs for them to fix it. Great quality control on thier part. When questioned why the repair was more than 3 times the estimate they really could not provide a good answer. I want to make clear that the Collison Center has no connection to the dealship and I have had nothing but good service from the dealership in both sales and service. Pros: In Beaverton Cons: Not happy with service or attitude more

Worst customer service 7/26/2005

Kuni has by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced. As soon as the papers have been signed, and the car rolls off the lot, their real colors are shown. The service department is especially atrocious. Thank goodness there are other options in the Portland area, otherwise I would drive to Seattle before ever giving Kuni a single cent. Pros: New location is nice. Cons: Service, Availability by phone, Attitude of mgmt. more

The Only Place to Buy 10/3/2004

After going to both BMW dealerships in the Portland area, I made the decision to buy here based on a few things. First, there were down-to-earth salespeople that didn't judge me by what I was wearing and took me seriously as a woman buying a car. Second, there was no pressure. I was offered a test drive and was told all about the car, but when I said I wasn't ready to purchase that day, there was no pressure! Third, they were willing to negotiate, which other dealerships were not. AND, the negotiation process didn't include the ""back and forth"" to the manager. The entire staff made the process of buying a car quick and easy! The entire staff was attentive from the start! Pros: Location, Salespeople, Service Dept. more

They don't deserve BMW 5/27/2002

I was there to order my new car (ended up NOT ordering from them) and they got no chair for me to sit! The only chairs were the tall stools in front of the computer. Is it professional or what? We're dealing w/ $30K+ deal here. Well, to make things worse, they gave me ONLY $500 off the price (?) claiming it's an ""Internet"" discount (is there such thing?) to match the ""internet"" price but that was the MSRP. They gave me HALF the value of my car for trade in. Obviously way less than what the other used car retailer would give. Is it some kind of a joke? Pros: Location Cons: Salesmen more
