Overall, this is a great facility. Kingwood has 4 course plus Deerwood. Every KCC personnel I have thus far encountered is pleasant. The golf courses are well maintained in general and they are working on repairs throughout. It doesn't get five stars as they don't act like most other clubs where I play golf. They seldom have Marshals patrolling the course to watch for pace of play and etiquette in general. Therefore players often hit into others, drive on fairways when they really shouldn't (posted rules or par 3s), and don't keep pace of play or let you pass if you are able. I understand not passing when everyone is backed up that is just weekend golf - but there are times when a foursome or a fivesome won't let a twosome pass. I would give this course five stars if they increased the level of Marshal patrols on the weekends. more

Play it if you can. 6/23/2008

Althought this course is private, I would recommend playing it if the opportunity should present itself. The course is challenging yet fair. Greens are very smooth, although sometimes a little slow (compared to the Island Course or Lake Course). Fairways are plush and well groomed. Rough is very penalizing in places. I would not suggest trying to walk this course as there are a few holes with a good distance between the green and the next tee box. Also, this is where some of the movie Tin Cup was filmed (along with some holes from Deerwood CC and other holes from the Island course). All in all, this is a great course that I have played several times, and will play many more times in the future. Pros: Nicely maintained Cons: Private more
