Won't be going back 12/16/2011

My 1st visit to Just For Me for a hair cut was OK, although VERY pricey. Asked for a less expensive stylist for my next appt (coloring). This stylist gave me seconds (literally) to tell her what I wanted before walking away to mix the color. Then, had to listen to her talk at me about her life for the entire visit (NOT RELAXING!). Even when my color was processing (& I was attempting to relax in a massage chair off the lobby), I had to listen to her tell others her life story. After color, she started cutting my hair (even though I had not scheduled a hair cut, she had never cut my hair before & had no idea what I even wanted to do with my hair!). Long story short, my hair was MUCH darker than I wanted & her hair cut was horrible (she thinned my hair out so much that I could hardly style it!). I called back to say I wasn't happy with the color (didn't even go into the cut, as I didn't feel that could be fixed at this point). Was forced to talk to the stylist who told me she gave me what I asked for (she didn't & not sure how she'd even know what I wanted since she barely let me talk!). Was told she could put a "shampoo cap" on, but that would just take out the color I had just paid for, or she could put in highlights, which I would be charged for. Forget it!! I'll never go back. I drove 80+ miles back to where I lived previously to have my hair cut the next time...and that hair cut, plus tip & gas was still less expensive that Just For Me! more

Love it!! 5/23/2011

Love the atmosphere, everyone is SO nice and all about making you happy. The owner (Heidi) is SUPER nice and knows how to take care of her staff. Pros: Wide variety of services, easy access to downtown Stillwater, Parking lot access, experienced staff who are there to make sure you have a great service(s). Cons: You wont want to leave! more

DO NOT GO HERE! 4/10/2011

I took my mother here for 60th b-day for a massage. I usually go to Massage Envy but they were running a special here for I decided to try it. I told them that it was a special event when I made the reservation. They were nice on the phone so I was excited. Well, we were 5 minutes late - trying to find parking. It is all off street. By the time we checked in and got ready, it was another 5 minutes. The massage therapists were not friendly and told us we would be docked 10 minutes. They did do a full body massage but just neck and back which was weak for me and to hard for my mother. Needless to say, I would never go back! more

Horrible Service! 10/2/2009

Very rude on the phone, made me feel like I was at fault. Unable to accomodate a small change with plenty of notice. Went with a large group overnight spending thousands of dollars and couldn't change one appointment because of their policy. Unwilling to accomodate a simple request. Will not go back! Go to the Marsh in Minnetonka it's way better and more posh! They make you feel like royalty there. Pros: Stillwater is pretty Cons: Customer Service more

Great Stylists 11/9/2008

The stylists here are wonderful!!I have seen a couple of the elite stylists here and have always been more than pleased. I have recieved great cuts and colors from both. Not only do I find the stylists are talented, but they are fun and entertaining too. All the girls seem to get along, have fun with each other and yet stay professional and do a fabulous job on my hair. I love to go there for that reason. Oh and I love the massage chairs for when you are getting color services. The only negative I can say is the decor is Ok. The salon looks kind of thrown together. You dont feel like its a beautiful salon. The floor is old, It needs new paint. the ceiling needs to be fixed, lighting isnt good in spots at all. Like I said "thrown together" Things you notice when your sitting with color on your head and while in the shampoo bowl, and since its a few months between my services I know its been like that for awhile. But again the stylists are great. Pros: Great stylists Cons: looks a bit thrown together more

Tranquility awaits you at this spa 10/15/2008

I 'm surprised to read some of these reviews as I have never had a negative experience here, and I've been a client at Just For Me for some time. My favorite spa service is a facial, and they sure know how to do it right. I also like their body wraps and polishes--so relaxing and your skin feels unbelievably soft afterwards! Great pedicures too (had one done about a month ago and it still looks like the first day i got it!!) I also like that if you don't want to carry on a conversation with your tech, you don't have to--they know you're here to relax and they don't chit-chat. I've had services done at other spas where the tech will talk and talk, and I'm too polite to tell her to be quiet! So I really appreciate that. The techs here are all very professional and very good at what they do. And the customer service I've experienced is also very good. I always feel as if I'm the only client in the place with all the individual attention you get. Even though on a Saturday it can get quite busy, the staff keeps their cool and everyone is happy. They have two big sales a year, you get 20% off gift cards which never expire and you can order them online or by phone, so even if you can't make it in you can still get the deal (I stock up--you can use the gift cards for hair products and spa services, too). If you sign up for their mailing list on their website you'll get monthly emails talking about their specials for the month and when the 20% off sale is. I love it here, and I highly recommend it. Pros: Wonderful woodsy atmosphere, beautiful lounge upstairs, very accommodating Cons: None that I can see more

"What a SHAME" 9/8/2008

First of all as I was waiting in the room for my appointment trying to relax there was workers talking about there money problems. Come on I am there to relax!! My time was 2:00 at 2:20 the therapist came in late, she was on of the woman talking about her problems. I went for the stone therapy massage, the therapist did not even introduce herself or ask my name. Bad sign!! Then came back in the room started did not even try to get me relaxed. I have had massages for years some great and some not that great but this was at the bottom!! I walked out of there so sorry I went. I will never go agian or buy another gift card for anyone. I live in Stillwater but I will drive to Mpls. for the next time I want a massage. Come on do you not care who works for you?? Nice place but I should have opened the window and tossed $110.00 out. Pros: Nice place Cons: The help more

Poor Customer Service 5/27/2008

I purchased the Couples Escape for $375 + tip for my fiance and me in February. It was rather expensive but the facial was very nice. However, I do not recommend this place because of a rather unfortunate experience that happened after the fact. I just called Just For Me to purchase a similar package for my sister and me for her 30th birthday. I was looking at the packages on the website while I was on the phone with their manager Jennifer(name?) and I noticed that I had never received the Spa Gift Package that was supposed to come with my Couples Escape package. I mentioned this to her as I was about to book my next package and she said there was nothing she could do about it because it was after the appointment date. I told her that I was just now looking closer at the description of the package and that she could look in her computer schedule to see that I was, in fact, there previously (plus on my Visa bill!). She said sorry she could not give me the Spa Gift at this time. Again I assured her that I was not trying to cheat her, only obtain what should have been given to me by her receptionist upon checkout. She was unwilling to help me. I am a frequent spa-goer of spas around the Twin Cities and I chose not to make my appointment with Just For Me for my sister?s birthday because of this. This is the first time I have not recommended a spa. I am very upset over this treatment considering I spent $450+ and was about to spend another $400 if she hadn't been so unaccommodating. Although the treatments may be nice here, their customer service is lacking. Pros: Nice Facials Cons: Poor management and customer service, will not honor everything listed in packages more

Great haircut, color & service!! 9/1/2007

I love this place! I have had my hair done in a lot of salons but this was by far the best. And I was able to get an appointment with only a few days notice. Right when I walked in the receptionist was very friendly. My stylist was awesome! She was very helpful with her recommendations & she took the time to listen to what I want & more importantly what I didn't want. It is a great cut, maybe even the best. And the highlights are beautiful! When you wait for the color to develop you can sit in one of their fabulous massage chairs & just relax. My stylist also helped me pick great products that are suited for my hair type. I can't wait for my next hair appointment! more

Always excellent! 3/2/2007

I've visited twice, have had haircuts, hilites, and brow sculpting. I've had different people each time, as I don't specify any one in particular, and both times have been pampered-would I like a beverage, would I like a magazine, is the water temp good, etc. My hair cuts were both terrific, and I have the best hair color ever, and I have been to many costly Twin Cities salons. Strangers literally comment on what a great color I have. They managed to lighten and hilite very dark hair without brassiness, which is quite a coup. They even have lovely massage chairs to sit in while you wait for your color to develop. It's a chore to try to stay awake, it is so relaxing. Everyone has been so pleasant and friendly, it's like chatting with a group of best friends, no attitude in the whole crew. In fact, the stylists are best friends outside of work, too, which adds to the relaxed, comfortable vibe. I hesitate to post a great review as I like keeping the place a bit of a secret; it's not too hard to get in, and they have excellent evening and weekend hours. But they are great and they deserve congrats. Also, the salon is lovely; old-world style furniture, a Tuscany feel, vs. the harsh chrome and glass so many have used that do nothing to relax you. I love this place! Pros: Parking, Ambience, Service, Comfort, Results!!!! Cons: Kind of a long drive for me, but worth it! more

Loud Staff 9/8/2005

Very opinionated desk person. Very disruptive desk girl last year. Asked her about massages for a friend that was undergoing chemo. She started talking about her experiences and how they wouldn't want that and her friend didn't want to be touched when she was going through that. I didn't care about her friend. I wanted assistance on nice package. She was completely unprofessional. more

  • In Short
In scenic Stillwater, this spa offers an alluring blend of log-cabin simplicity and luxurious amenities. The rustic decor--featuring wood, stone and nature-themed watercolors--lends the kind of small-town serenity that day-tripping soccer moms and bridal parties seek. Treatment rooms are clean and bare, filled with piped-in Celtic music and a hint of herbal fragrance. Because the whirlpool is communal--and visible through a glass door--patrons seeking a soak should bring a bathing suit. The charming, private dining room features a balcony and porch swing.
