I've had to go to Johnny Tamales four times now. The first time, expecting the worst, I ordered Fajitas as this dish is pretty difficult to screw up. I was relieved and surprised that it was at least edible. The next few times I visited the restaurant I dared try the Mahi fish taco's which tasted like they had been frozen reheated, frozen and reheated via microwave - horrible! I had to go again recently and stuck to the simple stuff - Chicken Fajita Salad. The chicken was peculiar tasting, I asked and found out it was marinated in pineapple juice. My three year old daughter unfortunately had some of my chicken. Seven hours later she was throwing up on and off for eight hours. The only good thing I can say that came out of this, is that I have a great excuse to never eat there again! With all the authentic Mexican cantina's in Pasadena, I suggest we Texican's venture out and eat some real Mexican food!
