I went here to get a tire replaced and it was a horrible experience. Joe was there but never lifted a finger to help, claiming he was now 'retired.' So he sat at his desk while the fat guy named Jeff took care of me. He kept trying to sell me a tire I didn't want and while he was doing that, he was gnawing on a hoagie. Not a great impression. Then his wife came in and they embraced in a sumo hug and just tuned me out for ten minutes while they chatted about this and that. I left and went to pep boys. Don't go to Joes. It's bad. more

I have been going here for tires & batteries for 10 years now and I have never had a problem. Being a woman I am usually talked to at car places as if I have no idea what is going on. I have never felt that here. They are straight forward and honest. They have never sold me anything that I don't need. The work has always been done professionally and everyone is friendly. The prices are great. I have a truck and a car and the prices have been way better than any other place I have called, I call around a lot!! The tires have gotten the full mileage wear out of them without any problems, and I buy the lowest priced tire that they can offer me. I highly recommend them. more

JOE'S BATTERY & TIRE IS A DEPENDABLE PLACE TO GO WHEN YOU NEED EXPERT SERVICE AND CARE. IT SEEMS LIKE EVERY CAR I HAVE IS A MAGNET FOR NAILS AND SCREWS. THEY ARE VERY HONEST AND WON'T SELL YOU SOMETHING YOU DON'T NEED. BUT IF YOU DO NEED TIRES, THEY HAVE VERY REASONABLE PRICES. JUST LIKE EVERY GOOD THING, YOU MAY HAVE TO WAIT A LITTLE BECAUSE THEY ARE SO POPULAR, BUT THEIR WAITING ROOM IS COMFORTABLE AND CLEAN. I WENT IN TODAY AT A LITTLE AFTER 9 AM AND WAS OUT IN ABOUT 20 MINUTES. I DIDN'T EVEN GET TO READ MY PAPER! more

Have used Joes more than 5-6 times. Get there early. Poeple line up -- seen the office with 8 -10 people waiting.Prices and service has always been top notch. You walk in and say you want tires for your car and they go out and get the right size and give you multible options(from name brands to cheaper no name). Than they call the warehouse to get them delivered. My son needed tires for his FordF250 -larger than most - payed 1/3 less than other places he priced. more

My wife and I have been buying tires here for years. Always a great experience as well as value for the dollar. Matter of fact getting new shoes for my truck there this Tuesday! more

i have been going to Joe's for 2 years since my mechanic sent me there. you can get mismatched tires at great prices. He also sells used tires that have many years left in them. doesn't try to sell you something you don't need. Pros: great prices, sells used tires or mismatched tires Cons: must go early more

I had an experience similar to another reviewer's I called ahead and was told they take customers up until 4:30pm, but when I showed up at 4:10 I was told they had made their last run to their warehouse, and that I had to come back in the morning. I asked if I could pay for the tires then so they could just get them on the first tire run of the day, hoping to avoid some of the waiting, but Joe said, ""We don't take appointments."" I tried to explain how what I was proposing was entirely unlike an appointment, but he acted like I was stupid and kept repeating ""We don't take appointments"" as if it saying it again might cause it to have some bearing on the issue at hand. If he had shown any sign of understanding what I was saying, I would have cheerfully accepted his ruling, but he seemed incapable of comprehending such a complex idea. I returned the next day anyway, figuring that his prices were good enough that it was worth the hassle. When I got there, however, I heard him make several disparaging remarks about Latinos or, as he called them, ""Porta Rickins"". I left immediately, and I won't go back. I placed a call to this business to get a tire changed at 3:45. Checked to see if they had the tire in stock (which they did) and asked what time they closed (5:00PM )and what was the latest they would take a customer. I was told 4:30PM. I was told to come on in and they would get me taken care of. I leave work early to get there across town, I arrive at 4:15PM and was then told that they weren't taking any more customers today and that the best thing for me to do is to drop it off in the morning and they would call me when the tire had been changed. They could have told me that over the phone vs me leaving work early only to be rejected upon arrival. If you have a policy in place you should honor it and not mislead people to have them believe you will provide a service then decide not to. Cons: Be Careful Using This Vendor more

First, I'm someone who lives nearby Joe's and knows of their reputation and business practices for at least a generation. My friends and family have done business with them on Union Blvd. for over 30 years. Through all of those business dealings, NO ONE WAS EVER UNHAPPY afterward. Of course, of all the people who would review this place, the only one who'd previously put forth an effort to actually say something about Joe's would be a negative one. Honestly, I have a very hard time believing that reviewer. So much that I've decided to set the record straight - something I seldom do on opinion-type sites. I have to tell you folks, Joe's is simply a TOP NOTCH place to do business. For such a small organization, they're well known and respected by both their business peers (including local car dealerships) and customers alike. They have a large customer base for a reason, because they know how to do business properly. I've personally done business there many times, for both tires and batteries. Each product was above suitable for the need, in fact, excellent. I don't know of many places that would sell you a 5 year battery and you get one month short of 6 years out of it instead. Plus, I've ALWAYS been treated with 100% honesty and respect, never been given the slightest hassle and always treated like I'd expect to be....with courtesy and consideration. Joe's is not some cheap discount chain or national shop where you're mislead, hustled and bustled through the door and shoved out immediately after you pay. These folks are decent human beings. You're talked to and treated properly, not by some scam artist out to make a commission. Expect to pay a fair price for their products and know that by doing so, you won't go wrong with the quality or service of your purchase. Enough said, I only hope that you, the next person to come along and read this, has a clearer understanding that Joe's Battery and Tire Service is, IN FACT, an excellent place to do business with!
