I have already told lots of my friends that they should go to Dr. Kane, but I wanted to make sure people knew about him here too. If you are looking for a really great eye doctor that will give you the best service, this is the guy for you! On top of a great first time checkup, I was really impressed that he remembered things I told him at my next appointment, that I didn't even remember saying. I have been a patient of Dr. Kane's for a number of years, and think very highly of him. In fact, he is the only doctor I have ever really felt comfortable with and looked forward to my appointments. He is clearly knowledgeable about everything when it comes to people's vision, and is very thorough at what he does to diagnose you and make sure you are getting the right prescription filled, should you need glasses. He offers everything I could hope for in vision care, and I only wish he was a doctor in more fields, so I could go to him for my other medical needs! Dr. Kane is an experienced optometrist that has been taking care of the Laguna Niguel community for the last 30 some years. He has been my optometrist for the last 20 years, and I appreciate the extra time he spends with me and other patients to make sure he gets all tests right.\r \r Dr. Kane has a modern office with the latest eye-care software and new computers. He has top of the line optometric equipment, including a Corneal Topography System, which by the way, is only used by about 10 percent of Optometrist. How do I know this? I volunteered to research for him a newer model since the one he has seems outdated compared to all his other equipment, but I found out that this was the latest model made because most Optometrist didn't want to be bothered with this valuable tool. Also, it is hard to learn to use and is very expensive.\r \r I have recommended Dr. Kane to all my friends, and I believe most of his new patients are made by word of mouth. I have been a patient of Dr. Kane's for the past four years; recently I decided to see another doctor after having unhappy eyes. I discovered I have permanent eye damage from the contacts that Dr. Kane insisted on prescribing; when I repeatedly told him that they irritate me.\r \r I have ever- so -slight stigmas in both my eyes and the type of contacts he put me on are for those who have severe stigmas and for those patients who do not use their contacts often. Dr. Kane knew that I was a student and wear my contacts for 10-12 hours daily. I asked Dr. Kane repeatedly to put me in contacts that I could replace more often because my eyes seemed dry and essentially unhappy, he instead he kept me in contacts that I change every three months for the past four years. \r \r Currently, I have a bacteria infection and a viral infection in both my eyes. I also will never be allowed to wear contacts for 10-12 hours again because of Dr. Kane's negligence. And I have dry eye so severe that I need to put a gel in my eye every night or put in plugs to produce tears. Due to Dr. Kane?s inexperience, negligence and greed or a combination of the three, allowed me to have constant eye problems. \r Pros: He takes any form of money Cons: He's a horrible horrible (can't say it enough) eye doctor! more
