I went into the Altamonte Springs location to get an appraisal on my diamond ring, which was my wedding ring with three diamonds (which I still love by the way). We purchased at Tanesian's Jewelers in Altamonte Springs in 1999. They were known for their beautiful high-quality jewelry. I also had my grandmother's ring that had a blue stone, unique, but to me it has sentimental value mostly. The man greeted me after going through the sensored doors, I told him I was interested in having my rings appraised. He asked me to sign in with my name and address. He sat the rings on a small tray and told me that someone will be right with me. A woman came over to me, picked up the rings, then sat down at a desk in an office, and she put the rings down on the desk in a hurry, almost wondered if my rings were going to roll off the desk. A few minutes later, she came back to me and asked, "Do you wear these rings?" I said no. She said, "Well, at the most, the rings would value at $200.00. Why did she ask me if I wore the rings? I was taken back at why she asked me that. She then said, "International Diamond Center's interests are in diamonds, over a carat diamond, these are not carats." She continued to say, "we would consider these scrap." How insensitive is she! In Wikipedia, 'Scrap is a term used to describe recyclable materials left over from every manner of product consumption, such as parts of vehicles, building supplies.' Don't get your diamond or gold apparaised to the woman with the big hair. She is very unprofessional and insensitive. I really think she had fun telling me that my rings were scrap. The word is too close to crap. I felt sorry for the man that has to work with this woman! No one else was in the store, wonder why.
