A Good Family Experience 8/9/2006

I took my family to the musem and it was excreptional. I had not been since Grade School and it was better than I could remember. There is something for everyone! Trains, Memorabilia, Exhibits, Planes Etc. It is layed out well and easy to get around. You could easily spen the entire day there. Get there early so you have time to see everything. PROS: Tons of Things To See & Do CONS: Kinda Pricey if not Expecting It more

Very educational 11/30/2005

I enjoy going to the Henry Ford museum and learning new things. They have different exhibits throughout the year which makes having a membership very worth the money. There is also an IMAX theatre which shows educational movies as well as popular ones. more

Can't Miss This Museum 11/4/2005

This is a fantastic museum for everyone - kids and grownups alike. There is really something for everyone here. You will find the presidential motorcade, huge train engines, old farm equipment, an oscar meyer weiner mobile, and so much more! The museum is somewhat expensive, but it's well worth it since it will take you half a day to see everything. Highly recommend for a day of family fun. more

Same old place, new name 10/20/2005

With ticket prices so expensive, we rarely go more than once a year here. I will say that parking is very nice, it has easy access and is free. That is the only thing that is free. They have completely renovated Greenfield Village, but there is still little excitement. For the "Amusement park" price you pay, there should be some more "Amusement" to it. Unless you are a history buff, you will probably find it boring. There are the special events and holidays, like the 4th of July show and Halloween in the village that are worth going to, but the rest of the year, it is more or less uneventful. What a sad choice for a name--"The Henry Ford." We were actually in a focus group about the whole name change about 3 years ago, and told them then that it was an awful name (so did many others), but they still stuck to it. They actually said they wanted something as recognizable as Walt Disney, I don't think it will work for them though. It just doesn't have the same qualities. more

A Must see ! 10/3/2005

This is a must see for everyone coming in and out of the great Detroit area. Its such a walk back into time to be stroll down this historical city and be able to see how things used to be. The buildings that are located here are from all around michigan and some from outside the state, and they are kept up in pristine condition. A must see living history mueseum. more

Great Place 9/27/2005

There are so many incredible things to see at this museum including the car JFK was assasinated in, the chair Lincoln was assasinated in, planes, cars, old fashioned equipment. The list goes on! This is a great place to spend an afternoon. People of all ages will enjoy it. They've done a great job keeping the place up! more

fun 9/7/2005

my family likes to go but it gets a little over budget once you factor tickets and food and gift shop and food and candy and souvenir's but it is an experience. more

Tons of fun! 9/6/2005

I've always enjoyed visiting this museum; it never gets old and I've found something new and interesting to see every time I've been there. My husband and I attended a Christmas party here and the food was wonderful, the dessert plate was delicious, and the drinks were easily obtained. It was a very different dinner ambiance, but it was very classy and memorable too! more

Henry Ford Museum 9/2/2005

Henry Ford Museusm has living history- from the car JFK was shot in to the bus that Rosa Parks rode. You'll spend the day reliving the past through actual artifacts from our country's history. This is a very family friendly museum with lots of restrooms, cafes, gift shops and more. Make sure to visit Greenfield Village while you're in town! more

Henry Ford Museum 8/31/2005

A museum thats great to go to all year round for the entire family. Its full of American History with interesting displays and exhibits. I love walking and seeing old toys on display from the past. Every time I go to the museum it always seems to bring back childhood memories. A must see. more

Michigan's Best Museum 8/29/2005

The Henry Ford Museum is the best in Michigan. You get to see where it all began to where the new fords are made. On display are many great automobiles but the one that has always stuck in my mind is the "Rosa Parks" bus. So much great history in this museum. Another "MUST" if visiting Detroit or you haven't been there in awhile. more

Amazing Museum 8/27/2005

There are truly some unbelievable items on exhibit at this massive history museum. I was awestruck when I viewed the Presidential Limousine that John F. Kennedy was assasinated in. (Other Presidential vehicles are also on exhibit including Teddy Roosevelts horse drawn carriage). They also have the chair that Abraham Lincoln sat in when he was assasinated, it still has the blood stain on it. You can also view (and sit in) the bus where Rosa Parks initiatiated America's quest for freedom and equality. These are just some of the spectacular exhibits you will find. Full size locomotives and planes are on display, the sheer enormity of them will amaze you. Touring exhibits are also frequently featured. I wouldn't recommend visiting the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village in the same day. There's just too much to see & too much that could be overlooked. This is a must for anyone in America to visit. more

Great fun. 8/17/2005

Love going to the village and the museum, both are alot of fun. They have new and exciting exhibitions added in on a regular basis, so there is almost always something new to see or do. The imax is also there for you to do. Become a member and save money. The member price is tax deductible. Also with the membership you do not have to pay the parking price that is added on to the tickets you buy. You get a discount at the Imax and at the stores. The themed projects they do, like their halloween nights is alot of fun also. more

Definitely a must-see! 7/25/2005

The Henry Ford Museum is an impressive building filled with bits and pieces of American history. As you walk around the building, visit the car that carried Kennedy in his last moments or look at the chair that Lincoln sat in at the Ford Theater. The museum often has interesting special displays and traveling exhibits. You can become a member and visit often to see what they have added to their vast collection. It is a great spot to take visiting family, too. Truly, this is one of metro Detroit's best kept secrets. more

A Great Spot to Spend the Day 7/13/2005

The Henry Ford is a wonderful place for both adults and kids. There is so much learning that can be done there, but it is interesting, fun learning. The Henry Ford is composed of Greenfield Village, an excellent outdoor village that is full of history, and Henry Ford Museam which has a lot of neat artifacts. Definately plan to stay the whole day, as there is tons to do. There is also an IMAX theater on site. more

So Much History in So Little Space 7/11/2005

Henry Ford did us all a favor when he began collecting history buildings and gathered them together at Greenfield VIllage. In the span of a handful of yards you can walk through Edisons Lab from Menlo Park to the Wright Brothers Bicycle Shop where they invented the airplane. You can see homes from the colonial times, a southern plantations, Noah Websters home, slave quarters, etc. Just about every era of American History is covered. You can ride an antique Model T or watch artisans make pottery/candles/brass works. It takes an entire day just to see everything at the park. Docents in period costumes add to the "flavor". It really is amazing to see so much history and walk through the actual buildings were world-changing events really took place. PROS: Everything! CONS: None! more

Great Place for a Family Outing 7/3/2005

This Museum is amazing and great for a family day out. They offer amazing exhibits on history of the automobile, toys, furniture, and even houses. My kids love going here and enjoy the hands on exhibits. alot of eye catching displays and memorablilia. A must do in Detroit area:) more

Extraordianary 10/11/2002

Marvellous place to visit with children. Could do without some of the new attractions - seem to detract from the overall experience rather than add to it. more
