Credit card information apparently stolen by waiter 8/29/2011

A recent visit appears to have resulted in $11,000 in fraudulent charges on the credit card used to purchase the meal. This card was only out of my personal possession once in the three weeks prior to the incident, and guess where that was? Yup...Hudson's. Still waiting for the credit card issuer's investigation to close but all fingers point to here. Too bad, because the meal was fine. more

EXCELLENT service and food 10/1/2010

I have occassion to frequestn Hudson's genreally one time per week.\r One expects to find quality food at a restuarnt but this food qulaity and appearence is stellar --- always! The menu chages seasonally and they offer different dinner specials daily. The chef and his staff are visible to the dining room and do a great job!\r The additonal quality which is as meaningful to me as the qulality of the food is the qulaity fo the customer service. The GM Ron Vansaugi with his service manager Scott Gis have a phenomenal team that treat the guests as family. You do not want for a thing during yoru dining expereince. Some of those magical team members include Andreas, Julie and Sandra.\r i cannot say enough good things about this 5 star dining expereince. more

Great Food, bad attitudes 5/26/2010

The food at Hudsons never disappoints, but is hard to enjoy it when the waitstaff obviously would rather be anywhere but at work. The hostess with zero personality and extremely rude and servers expression never changed from stone faced. When asking him about menu items it pained him to have to answer me. He definatley was there to wait on us but also made it very clear that he didn't want to. I've been serving for seven years and I have never acted in the manner that he acted it is unprofessional and deserving of the poor tip I left him. Hudsons you need to rehire your staff and give them a personality test before offering them employment. I won't reccomend the restuarant or return because I find it hard to enjoy a meal out with my family when I feel I am putting the waitstaff out. This experience ruined my Sunday dinner. Pros: Food is delicous Cons: Service staff needs replacement more

Delicious breakfast! 10/21/2008

I've had breakfast here on several occasions over the last year, and have always left happy and wanting to come back for more! Their green chili and egg scramble is SO tasty for breakfast! Their pancakes are also amazing, they come with pecan butter and did I mention they are HUGE! The portions are very generous, I rarely get close to eating just half of my meal! The mimosas are wonderful and the orange juice really does taste freshly squeezed, I should ask next time... We have had the same waitress every time we go in and it is always a pleasant experience as she is very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. The overall feeling is of a cabin, so when you go, be sure to take some pictures outside it is just beautiful! I will probably be visiting there this coming weekend as I am now craving their yummy pancakes!! :=) Pros: Amazing breakfast more

A dissapointment 2/15/2008

We chose the Hudson Grill for our Valentines meal and have come to regret our decision. This is about the 5th or 6th time we've eaten here and all our other experiences have been quite good, but Valentines '08 was a mess. We made reservations well in advance, but they were not ready for us and we waited 25 minutes before being seated. We started with the calamari and some drinks from the bar. The lemon drop was a little weak (lacking flavour not alcohol), the beer, on tap, was fine. The calamari was very greasy and had an annoying amount of fried peppers and onions. about 50% of the dish was actually calamari and as fried in too low a temp and came out overly greasy. We had the baby lettuce salads and WOW the dressing was ""you have go to be kidding"" too vinegary and overwhelming. Our entrees were the lobster ravioli and prime rib. The ravioli came in a sauce with a clam chowdery soup like consistency and the prime rib was straight out of Home Town Buffet. The one shining moment was our bottle of wine, which was deep, complex and very satisfying... and only cost me a $10 cork fee - (yeah we brought our own wine to dinner).\r \r I'm not going back, unless someone else is paying.\r \r pdxfoodie! Pros: Great atmosphere, friendly wait staff Cons: the food, the food, the food more

Must be getting better... 2/8/2008

We went on a Thursday night. Resturant was not too busy and we were sat right away. Server was ok. Not supr friendly, but fast and curtious. Food was good. They didn't have the soup my husband wanted, to the server bought him another kind and it was free. Portions were decent. Salmon was excellent. My husband loved the pepper new york steak. Deserts were also very good. Decent portions for the price. All and all a decent experiences Pros: Good Food, Decent portions, Nice ambience, desert is excellent Cons: service was just ok, very loud more

Go to Portland for a good meal,,,Vantucky still has nothing even though they tried....... 10/12/2007

We took our parents there for their 50th anniversary and the portions were soooooo small, regardless of that thought the service sucked we were rushed our and needless to say we won't be back ever!!! more

One of the better Vancouver restaurants 11/21/2006

We live in Vancouver, so when we are craving a nice dinner in the area we go to Hudson's. There are only a handful of restaurants in Vancouver that have good find dining and wine lists. Their entrees are always good and the Sunday brunch is also good. Pros: Good restaurant in Vancovuer Cons: service is consistently average more

nice open clean kitchen 11/19/2006

The atmosphere is great, good food, a little pricey but expected. Would like to see more room available in ""bar"" area seating -kind of tight Pros: service Cons: close quarters in bar more

Great breakfast! 11/18/2006

This place has a great, if limited, breakfast menu with prices comparable to diner-style chains in town. The main difference here is the quality of the food. Loved the hash with the home-made corned beef! Better than average coffee; OJ tasted fresh squeezed (I didn't ask). Maybe I'm just lucky but I've never had to wait to be seated for breakfast here, unlike many other places.... Pros: Food, prices, service more

Classy dining without the arrogance 11/3/2006

I have yet to be disappointed with a trip to Hudson's. I've been for brunch 3 or 4 times, dinner 6 times, and even Thanksgiving dinner a few years ago. I have had several of their entrees, though I always enjoy the venison (sorry Bambi). The service has always been wonderful - attentive, knowledgable staff, excellent food and wine, and an atmosphere that truly reflects the ""classy, yet comfortable"" feel of the Lodge. more

One of Vancouver's Best 1/28/2006

Your choices for fine dining in Vancouver, WA are quite limited. Hudson's is one of the few places to escape from the ordinary. The atmosphere is pleasent & the menu is nicely varied. We started with the soup sampler (local mushroom, smoked chicken corn chowder, butternut squash) and the seafood cakes with goat chees and air dried tomatoes. Both were very good. For our entrees we tried the Lamb Shank with barley & wild mushrooms and the Ribeye with yukon mashers, grilled baby carrots and asparagus. Both were well prepared. The lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender. For dessert, the chocolate caramel pecan cake. Wine list features many local wines. Good service - nice meal - we'll be back. more

Interesting and Varied Menu, Very Good, Not Great 1/23/2006

We tried Hudson's for the first time Saturday night. We were seated promptly, the service was very good, the menu was interesting and has a good mix of different dishes. Although both the appetizers and all three of the entrees we selected were good, none of them were truly outstanding. To me it was more a matter of execution than vision. I would eat there again, but not as a 'special occasion'. A near miss from notable. Pros: prompt, good service, varied menu Cons: expensive more

Great Food in Vancouver 10/13/2005

I had a wonder dining experience last eveing at Hudson's. The piping hot Smoked Chicken Corn chowder served with rustic bread was incredible! We also enjoyed the Stuffed Cedar Plank Salmon! We'll be back soon. Pros: romantic, cozy, nice art work more

Awful 7/23/2005

The service was not there. While many waiters and waitresses walked by our table, we needed to flag someone after sitting there for more than ten minutes. The waitress' attention was hard to get when i wanted water, corffee or any other service. The food was bad insititutional prefrozen food. And, these were the house specialties. Too salty and luke warm and unevenly cooked. The plank stuffed saalmon was something you would expect on the ""rubber chicken"" circuit. My wife's lamb kabobs were old mutton pieces of lamb but the couscous was superb. Overall, overpriced and over rated. AVOID. Pros: Superb couscous, nice setting, good parking Cons: Awful service, bad food, expensive more

Pumpkin Cheese cake! 1/22/2005

My family went to Hudson's and loved all dishes! Especially, pumpkin cheese cake was very new and tasty! My son loved the famous bread pudding. But I will go for the pumpkin cheese cake again! Pros: parking, kid's friendly, open kitchen more

hudson's 5/5/2004

world's greatest bartender -- chef Ray also tops -- good music on thur, fri and sat -- good wines available Pros: bartender friendly, unique dishes by ray, music more

Love the food 4/1/2004

The food is really good (try the onion rings) but I wish the ""Iron Chef"" (yes he really is one) would change the menu more often. The chicken stuffed with goat's cheese and wild rice ""pancakes"" is to die for. The desserts are amazing too - probably the best cheese cake I've ever had. Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Service more
