If you want to get up close to a river otter or visit eagles or owls, this is a place where you can see incredible wildlife in a natural setting. I like this museum because it is well maintained and staffed by people who know a lot about the area, so if you (or your kids) have any questions about what Bend was like during the 1800's, or how to create a yard that will attract more birds-- chances are you will get a good answer here. It is a very calm, fun place and my family loves going here. more

Beautiful indoor/outdoor museum 7/16/2005

This beautifully constructed indoor and outdoor museum has wonderful displays including river otters, porcupines, and birds of prey in their live animal displays. They also have an outdoor walk featuring buildings including a sawmill, old covered wagon, and other historical buildings. All the paths are paved and wheelchair/stroller accessible. Indoors they have a collection of small reptiles and mammals, multiple art displays and an old time town. more
