Harrison Hospital

My son who just turned 18 but was still in High School was ordered to go in alone. Which is fine but he ended up waiting 4 hours and came out with a bill of over $5,000. This is what's wrong with America. He had to go again recently and waited even longer to see the Doctor for 10 minutes, $1,500. This is so wrong. This is the best you can do? Awful. more

I headed for the ER as I had a yellow jacket bite that was going south. Not my first hit by one of these lovely insects, but the first time I had shown anything other than a minor issue. Not today. The 'doctor' obviously was not up on the symptoms of a reaction to insect bites. His thoughts on the proper medication to take oppose most all the published literature and that of the Wilderness First Aid instructors who have taught me and others. He had no clue and offered no suggestions or an opinion as to what was going on with me. Almost condescending. First time ever I have been treated like this at any hospital, and I am almost 59. I will never see again, and will go out of my way to talk this up with my co-workers and friends. Next time I will take the risk and head to Tacoma for a real doctor/hospital. more

I am so beyond upset with this hospital. I went there and the first thing they ask is for your insurance information. For what?! They never told me that the doctor was not in network, so now I am stuck with a bill I cannot afford as a single mother. And I have always had insurance. I don't have state help. And when you call to try to file a grievance, they don't answer the phone. more

Not sure why I bothered to go there when I had a recent foot injury, should have taken the ferry. Of course it is the best hospital in the area (as the other person wrote)... it is the ONLY hospital in the area. I went to the Silverdale campus and there was dried blood on the floor in the triage area. Nice. They said I had a broken 5th phalanx (toe) and buddy taped it to the 4th toe.. well.. the 4th toe also happened to be broken as well as the 3rd. Hmmm! Ooops! Missed that! Their bad! I should have known, last time I experienced Harrison's stellar radiological services I was taking someone that had significant abdominal/chest trauma, they did xrays & ct on him but managed to miss 3 broken ribs. Told him he was just bruised. Two weeks later he got a call... oh, by the way, you have 3 broken ribs. You're going to be sore for a while. Wonder if I'll get that call too? more

Harrison Silverdale offers the best hospital services in this area - very pleasant atmosphere, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Much better than the Bremerton Harrison hospital... there is typically no waiting for emergency services and they offer a very comfortable setting for same day surgery and post-pardum care. more
