Genesis Salon & Medical Spa

I tried 3 different stylists at Genesis. I received bad haircuts each time. I left looking good twice, but the cut never lasted in good shape and the next day was always a disaster.\r \r The front counter staff were rude, more concerned with their personal phone calls, or gossiping about each other and the stylists than providing good customer service. \r \r The last haircut I received was not what I asked for. The stylist kept cutting it too short. I kept reminding her and if she hadn't been in the middle of the cut and I had a meeting to attend the next day, I would have gotten up and left. I had mentioned I had lived in a southern state for a year and she then switched to a fake southern accent from her normal one. She was jittery and kept telling me how wonderful she was. She took over an hour and a half and the salon was closed by the time she was done. When I went to pay the cashier told me she had closed the register and couldn't take my debit card, so I would have to pay by another method. Fortunately, I had a check book with me. I went into Genesis the day before my wedding for a touch up on my hair. I specifically asked for the same highlights that I had, only to touch up the growth and touch up the grey. I had dark hair with thin, slight blond highlights. I ended up with blond hair all over the top and sides, brown and grey underneath. My skin tone and facial appearance is for dark hair not Blond. The blond hair was unbelieveable. It wasn't even done in good taste. The so called stylist took over 3 hours to ruin my hair and ran way over into my nail appointment. I missed my dinner with family that evening as I was in their salon for a total of 8 hours including the time it took to have someone else do an all over color on top of the blond to try and correct this horrible color. I was so devistated that I left crying hysterically. On top of that they charged me $120 and the stylist did not style my hair, asked me if I would go to the nail appointment with wet hair? My hair which was in good shape now requires condition treatments. I was also charged for a cut, which I did not receive.\r To sum it up, I was charged for a devistated color, no styling and no cut. My tip to the stylist, get another job. more

I had my hair chemically straightened (Japanese hair straightening) here it the results were dreadful. I went in, had a consultation and was advised by the stylist that she could straighten my hair, that it would be no problem. I made an appointment, paid $450 and the results I got were anything but straight.\r \r True she did relax some of my curls, but my hair was nowhere NEAR straight. Having had the procedure a couple years ago, I knew what a good result was. What I received was a half-a** job. \r \r I was very disappointed, I wrote a letter to them explaining the reasons for my dissatisfaction ? they never responded.\r Pros: Given my experience, I have give no Pros. Cons: Skill of stylist was terrible, their response to my letter expressing dissatisfaction was NIL. more

I do not recommend this salon. I got a terrible hair cut and brassy partial highlights for $180. The staff is rude, the front desk girls were gossiping and smacking their gum. I was charged $30 for a treatment I didn't have and didn't ask for and had to argue with the front desk to have the charge removed. more
