Absolutely Fabulous... 1/18/2007

I went to the Gaslight Costume Shoppe in hopes to find something for U of A's homecoming, in particular to help my brother's fraternity the Kappa Alpha Order fit the theme of "supporting our soldiers" for their morning parade and floats. Most places I went to didn't have the kind of costumes I needed or the budget I was looking for. I found an original Naval, Air Force, and Army Uniform with their original ribbons and pins, original helmets from World War II and MANY other vintage clothing. I was amazed at the quality of their costumes; they were in fabulous shape. Not to mention, more than half of their costumes were made right there in their shop!!!! They looked professionally done! And to top it all off, their customer service was genuine, probably the best I've seen in comparrison to most stores. These people knew their costumes, and helped me find everything I described to them and needed. If you need virtually any costume, I suggest to you, the Gaslight Costume Shoppe. There aren't any others in town that know their costumes the way these people at the Gaslight do. more

Family fun 10/19/2005

The Gaslight Theatre is a great place to for a fun date or to take kids to experience plays for the first time. The shows are corny and funny and usually involve audience participation, which kids tend to like. They do serve food here as well, so you can enjoy a pizza while watching the fun. more

This is a must-see! 8/9/2005

The Gaslight Theatre is one of the few must-see highlights of Tucson! The performers are so much fun and most of them have been doing this for years. The ambiance is great, you get free popcorn at the tables, and you can order good food, like pizza and flavored sodas. The waitresses dress up in costumes, and they will read your name aloud and give you an ice-cream cone for birthdays and anniversarys. This place is great for families or a special night out. more

What a Gas! 7/19/2005

Gaslight Theatre has been a staple in Tucson for years for melodrama. It's a great place to take the family or just go with friends. Shout, cheer, boo and hiss, it's all legal here. They take classics and make some great spoofs - Treasure Island, Secret Agent Man, Phantom of the Opera. It's a crazy romp and you'll leave with a smile on your face. Affordable too $14.95 for adults. Get you reservations early though because these shows sell out. Stay for their Oleos after the plays and see your favorites sing and dance. Armen Dirtadian is a favorite! more

Love Love Love The Gaslight 7/15/2005

If you haven't been, this is a must! Melodrama at it's finest. You participate in the play by booing the villan and cheering the hero! Musical numbers after the play. Hilarious renditions of popular movies, classics and other themes. Live music, there is a at the beginning so arrive on time. Love the pizza and ice cream from Little Anthony's- you are served in the theater and eat during the play. Be sure to mention to your server if it is someone's birthday or anniversary! If you have a large group (20 people and up), you can get discount tickets. Be sure to call way in advance - they fill up so quickly! Also - bring your camera as they have some cute displays outside of the theater. more

A good time for everyone at Gaslight Theatre 7/14/2005

Gaslight Theatre is over the top. All of the productions are written and acted to get big laughs from the audience. Every show has a hero (applaud loudly) and a villan (boo!), and some sort of romance. Audience members are encouraged and even expected to participate. The Gaslight is located right next to Grandma Tony's on Broadway, and their food is available for purchase. Prices are very reasonable. Popcorn is free. If you go to the Gaslight on your birthday, and let someone on staff know before the show, you get a free ice cream cone at the break between the regular show and the series of vignettes that the actors do at the end. This is a fun night for the whole family. more
