Fantastic cheese & so much more 9/26/2005

I love Fromage. It has gourmet food items and the most extensive collection of cheeses I have ever seen. I walked in there a couple days ago to get some cheese for a cheese party. I simply asked the lady behind the counter for 5 delicious cheeses I had never tried before. She asked me what I have tried before, then took out cheese after cheese offering me tastes. I ended up with a soft-ripened German blue cheese, French compte, French soft muenster, an extra-sharp English cheddar, Italian hard cow cheese similar to parmagiano reggiano. All unique, all delicious. And since they also sell gourmet food including breads and crackers, I was all set for acoutrements. Even if you're not in the mood for cheese, they have pates, teas, coffees, bottled sauces, jellies, spices, chocolates, non-alcoholic beverages like limonade, fancy pastas, and so much more. It's a food lover's delight. more

Fromage is an adorable gourmet shop that carries a huge selection of exotic and hard to find spices, ingredients, baking supplies, sauces and preserves. Some of the brands include David Glass, Scharfenberger and Stonewall Kitchen. You can find almost anything you need for an exotic or gourmet meal. They also have a large selection of artisinal and imported cheeses, along with delicious spreads, olives and coffees available by the pound. The owner and staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, and can direct even the novice to some wonderful cheese selections. Closed on Sundays, open fairly early during the week. more

  • Fromage was founded by owner Christine Chesanek shortly after she graduated from Villanova University. The original store was a small but quaint location that was always packed with people looking for Christine's expertise on which cheese to choose for their gathering. After 11 years, it was finally time for a change. Fromage moved into their new location at 873 Boston Post Road in May of 2004. The new store almost triple the square footage of the old store allowing for a wider selection of cheeses, meats, coffees and a wide variety of gourmet items.
