I remember when my weddig picture was in this paper they did such a poor job of it. none of their pictures ever looks very good. My sister resubscribed then moved out of state, the paper is so slow in getting to her I think I could walk it there faster. it never forgets to publish bad news. if anything gets published about any of us, like a cop picking us up for speeding or running a stop sign, its in there and then my dad proudly shows everyone. i only buy the paper if i'm hunting for something i think will be in there and sometimes it isn't. more

The best small town newspaper ever! 8/3/2005

The Free Press Standard is a super newspaper, the best in our area. They cover all the local news, including in depth school coverage. They seem to be fair in their reporting also, you can never tell who's side the reporter is on (sometimes the reporter's opinion shows through the story for other papers). If you want to run a small classified ad, they'll bill you, so you can call it in instead of making the trip downtown. more
