Editorial review from Citysearch 2/2/2015

Ever since I have attended this school I have been depressed and suicidal because of the continuous bullying from other students. Often times teachers witness the bullying but don't even do anything about it. This is the worst school I have ever attended and I will never recommend this school to anyone. more

FCDS = not that great 1/24/2012

PreK, not a good start 8/15/2011

I wasn't happy with my kid's first year at FCDS. Other than the regular parents meetings it was difficult to maintain contact with the teacher outside the regular class hours. Whenever I called to talk about my kid's progress I was asked (politely) to either wait for the regular meeting or set up a meeting way in advance mostly in the middle of the day. Like teachers are the only ones having a regular job and schedule. My boy's teacher (Lewis) acts like the school is her own property. I've heard her a couple of times screaming at the secondary teacher like she was on her own land, and I was there (with other parents). I can only imagine how she behaves when there are no parents around. Obviously, this is not a teacher my kid has anything to learn from. Among many bothering things my kid one day came home and asked for a red belt like the one Mrs Lewis had. At first I had no idea what he was talking about. Then I realized he was talking about Mrs Lewis panties string that was showing anytime she would bend to pick up something on the floor. Embarrassing to even explain to a 5 yold what the ""belt"" was. She, and the other young teachers in perk, act like the school is a fashion show stage. Unfortunately for the money I pay I expect way more from a school with this reputation. I give my kid a second chance in K. If it works the same way, I'll consider Summit in WS more

Love this school! 9/25/2008

I feel blessed to send our kids to FCDS. They LOVE it! I love that we feel a part of our kids educational experience. We are involved in the school because we all enjoy being at school events together! The education is incredible, better than any HAG or AG program out there, and the small class size allows the teachers to really know my kids. It really is an impressive school! Pros: total school enviornment is safe, welcoming, and wonderful Cons: my kids would rather be at school than at home! more

Forsyth Country Day is BEST school! 9/23/2008

My son struggled in public school because the class sizes were too large. He is very bright, but has dyslexia. We found the MAP program at FCDS, and his whole outlook on life has changed! He loves learning and looks forward to school. The entire school community at FCDS is amazing. There are great school wide events where young kids and high school students are together. The high school students are fantastic role models for the younger kids. Enrolling our kids at FCDS has been the best decision we have ever made. more

Best school in the Piedmont 9/23/2008

This school is exceptional - best value in town! The small class size and impressive faculty and coaches are amazing. My son is dyslexic and struggles to learn, but is extremely bright. He enrolled in the MAP program at FCDS and is thriving! He has access to incredible resources and the best teachers I have ever encountered. I love the school enviornment. I also have a son in the lower school, and I can't express how much he loves the school. It is a wonderful, safe enviornment. If you haven't been to a football game, do so. It is a throw back to the days when families gathered together in a fun filled, safe, happy environment. Take some time and tour the school if you have school aged children. It will amaze you! Pros: small class size, individualized instruction, personal attention to each learner more

Send your kids here! 8/25/2005

I babysat for a little boy who went to this school. His parents were middle-class and I know it is not that expensive. But let me tell you the difference in this little boy and other little boys his age (he was 6 at the time). He was so intelligent and polite. His parents credited it all to this school. In an age where children can be easily tempted by the "not so nice ways of the world", this is a place you can send them on a daily basis and know that their safety, education and overall spirit is being taken care of to the max. more
