Editorial review from Citysearch 4/18/2013

My bridesmaids went to Elizabeth s because they carried the line we were looking for. And everything since then has been a downward spiral !! \r - At the fittings they couldn t even get the girls names right. The owner, Elizabeth, kept trying to fit me for a dress. I had to tell her 3 times I was the bride. \r - Only 2 of the 4 dresses ordered 4 MONTHS ago are in. My wedding is in 5 weeks and the owner still has no idea when they will be in. I asked for the distributors number and they refused to give it to me !! \r \r Even if it were my last choice I would NEVER go here! I would rather buy dresses from the mall than go here again. more

Wonderful :) 4/16/2012

I have went to a couple places before coming here and i just loved the feel of this place and everyone was wonderful. My sales women was wonderful! I loved that they gave you a robe in between looking for dresses. This place is beautiful inside and out. I never had any problems with any of the staff everyone was very friendly! I found my perfect dress here and i went some where else afer this place for one last look to make sure that was my dress and they had it at a bridal shop that was much closer to my house but i ended up buying my dress from here because i just liked the feel of the place better! It didnt feel like a bridal shop, it felt like you knew these people forever! Thanks for everything and making this part of the wedding process a breeze! more

Good Experience, Very Thankful! 3/24/2012

I had a wonderful experience buying my bridal gown. I knew going in from doing my research on places that with my budget that they would have a limited selection, but i wanted to give it a whirl. I ended up finding the perfect dress, even though it was over my budget (i gave her the ok to show me the dress she thought i would love - and she was right). Taking the shoes off isn't as bad as what people complain about. It is to keep the dresses clean and presentable from any dirt shoes may bring in. I had my 4 year old with me and they were so friendly with her. They even let her look at dresses for her and one of my bridesmaids without an appointment. I am taking my bridesmaids there to see what we can find for them. Elizabeth has it set up to be an intimate, comfortable setting that makes you feel like a princess. If you want the mall experience with mass production, go to Davids Bridal (not that Davids Bridal is a bad place because they have a great selection, just different experience). Thank you Elizabeth for a great experience. more

Not pleased 2/27/2012

First off, we were running late due to traffic on 275. I called 10 minutes early to tell them I would be 15 minutes late. She was very rude to me on the phone about this. I almost turned around, however I had found my dress online and this was the only store in the area that had the sample. When we walked in, we had to take our shoes off. I'm not sure if that is supposed to make people feel more ""at home"" but it was very awkward and uncomfortable, especially since it was in the summer and some people had to walk around in bare feet. That is disgusting. Then while waiting for our appt (mind you there was no one else in the store), my mom asked where the bathroom was. She was very rudely given an answer as if she should've known this. We were immediately turned off by this place. I tried on the sample along with a few others and we left. I purchased that very gown I came in to see from a different location. I know that is bad business and you shouldn't do that, however after the numerous incidents I couldn't give them my business. I felt bad because the salesperson was very nice and helpful, but I'm a firm believer in good customer service (especially when this is such an exciting time for women) and this place showed none of that. more

Exceptional Staff and Dress 9/1/2011

The owner Elizabeth met me at the door at my appointment time. She introduced me to staff and personally attended to me. I didn't have a problem taking off my shoes especially when I saw how clean the dressing area was. I would be horrified to get a dress with dirt or mud on it so removing shoes is an excellent idea. Elizabeth questioned me about my style and taste. She helpd me pick out some wedding gowns which were all amazing. She knows her stuff because she guessed my size. Elizable made me feel special and eased my anxiety of picking out a gown. The tgirld dress was the charm. I instantly fell in love with it the moment I had it on. Alterations are not done on site, however, there are several options/locations that you are referred to. I was referred to Mary and she does exceptional work. Elizabeth also helped 3 family members pick out dresses and they all loved how she treated them as well. I would refer any to Elizabeth's. more

VERY WRINKLED DRESS 8/11/2011

I thought that when you bought a $200.00 bridesmaid dress that it would look presentable when you picked it up. The polyester -nylon dress, that was made in China, looked like it just came out of a shipping crate off the boat. I asked if they pressed the dresses. I was told that the person you get to do the alterations usually does the pressing. They don't do the alterations at the store. They give you names of people who do alterations . We have no choice but to put up with this very bad service because we are just one of several bridesmaids and at this point we need the dresses to match. I feel like taking the dress to the dry cleaners to be pressed and sending them the bill. With all the gathering at the bust and waist...this is not an easy dress to press. The fabric in these areas is very wrinkled as well. If we didn't feel like we were held captive because of the wedding circumstance we would have refused the dress. more

TERRIBLE! 6/6/2009

Terrible place! I would not recommend Elizabeth's to ANY bride! We had trouble finding the place and ended up being late for our appointment (and called to let them know and ask for better directions). Because of this, they were extremelty rude from the get-go. They told us that we had to wait for a dressing room to open up to even LOOK at the dresses. We waited a good 20 minutes, with NO ONE talking to us and then, the saleswoman, who finally came to speak to us, picked out a handful of dresses for me to try on. I didn't like any of them, and told her, nicely, what I did and did not like about each one. She simply told me that she did not have anything else to show me....So much for wanting my sale! \r When trying on each dress, she did not tell me anything about any of them. I asked who the designer of a specific dress was and she told me she couldn't tell me. The saleswoman was also extremely UNknowledgeable about the dresses. I pointed out some aspect of one of the dresses and she responded ""I never even noticed that"". She never once tried to show me how to bustle a dress or what type of fabric it was made out of, etc. \r Very rude and unprofessional! I would NOT go here! more

Great experience 2/5/2009

We have been to many bridal shops and this one has been the best so far. I am quite surprised to read the bad reviews. First, we have no problem removing our shoes as it only makes sense. When my daughter is getting her fitting for her beautiful wedding dress, I don't want to see someone slough by in their muddy, yukky boots. If you really have a problem with taking off your shoes, then you really have a problem. \r \r My daughter ordered her wedding dress and chose the bridesmaids dresses from Elizabeth's. We have been there about 4 times already and each time, they could not be more accommodating, experienced and kind. One Saturday afternoon we called at the last minute and asked to come look at bridesmaid dresses and they said, no problem. When we call for an appointment, they book us easily. They wait on us with expertise and warmth. \r \r We have girls with all different shapes and sizes in this party and the staff's advice and the caring way they handle each girl has been wonderful. Someone in a review complained that they did not let them look through the dresses; we were certainly allowed to do that, but they also brought out a few that they thought would work well for my daughter and it was one of those that she chose. From the owner to each employee we have met at this store, we have been treated with friendliness and professionalism.\r \r Thank you Elizabeth's Bridal. We look forward to seeing the finished products!\r \r Pros: Great Selection and Expertise more

A good place to start 1/31/2009

Yes, you have to take your shoes off when you walk in but besides that, I think the selection here as far as designers and price makes it a good place to start your shopping. There isn't a limit on how many dresses you can choose to look at and they have lots of shoes and veils to help you accesorize. All the ladies that walked by constantly told me every dress I had on was pretty so there was not a lot of advice, but like I said the selection would make it a good jumping off point. Pros: large selection more

Never Again 1/11/2009

At these prices I expect good service and friendly faces. However, THE Elizabeth was probably the most unkind, unprofessional, and cold person I have ever met in the business. Aside from taking your shoes off the minute you walk in, the staff seems confused and often times misguided. I happen to be petite however large breasted and the Elizabeth did NOT know what to do with me and decided we picked the wrong bridesmaid dress, and was very rude about it. It was quite embarrassing to have many people watching while being measured and tugged on and asked to position your breasts a way they will not rest and then coming up with no solution. I forgot to ask, ""So you've been in business all this time and you have NO idea what to do with someone like me?"" This made me feel like Elizabeth was VERY unqualified. I would not recommend a place that costs so much but does not make you feel very good about yourself at quite a stressful time. I would not mind paying the prices if you got better service. We also ordered our dresses and the staff said we would expect the dresses to come in 2-3 months and then the dresses showed up very early, too early to be able to afford them..not to mention they charge interest after 17 days if you cannot pick it up. After we made our last payment...we left the boutique without even a goodbye or thank you. You have got to be kidding me, never again. more

Beautiful store; great staff! 4/19/2008

Ive been dress shopping at about 8 stores now and this was by far my best experience. Although I haven't decided on ""the dress"" yet, I would love to give this store my business. The staff was respectful, listened to my preferences, gave me honest opinions rather than trying to sell my on everything. The gal I worked with truly seemed to understand ""my taste"" and what I was looking for. The store itself is just darling! This was the true dress shopping experience. more

WORST BRIDAL EXPERIENCE EVER 1/20/2008

This has to be the worst bridal salon I?ve ever been to. First, you have to take off your shoes when you enter the store, which is both ridiculous and rude. If you want to keep your store clean, wash the floor. It?s your store and your responsibility to clean it, not the customer?s. \r \r Second, the service was terrible. I made an appointment for my bridesmaids to try own dresses and not one associate ever even asked them a single question. In fact, they didn?t even ask me what color or style I was looking for; they simply showed me a slew of crowded dresses and left me alone to sort through the mess. The only thing they did was put the dresses in a fitting room. In the midst of the chaos, I was shuffled to THREE different associates, all of whom had a different excuse for leaving: ?I have a phone call,? ?I have to check something,? ?I?ll be right back.? None of whom ever actually came back. \r \r While trying on the dresses, I clipped the dresses for my girls. I helped the girls into them and zip them. I checked the hems on them. The four or five associates that were in the dressing room were standing around doing NOTHING. And this disservice was not exclusive to my party. There were two other parties in the dressing room trying on dresses, veils and accessories. Not one of these parties was being attended to. After selecting a couple dresses that we liked the associates weren?t even there to tell me if they could come in the color that I needed.\r \r This is not a modestly priced bridal salon. Brides who are paying top dollar to make the most wonderful day in their lives just that should have a great experience when buying their gown or their attendant?s gowns. They do not deserve this sort of treatment. Shopping at this store is an unfortunate and unprofessional experience. These women do not deserve a bridal salon. If you ever find yourselves in a position like this, take a bit of advice: there?s better service out there; just walk out. You?re worth it. Pros: NOTHING Cons: service, service, service more

great place for brides 6/2/2007

I went to Elizabeth's Bridal and had a great experience. The customer service was great and the store was well kept and pretty. I would highly recommend the store. more

Great Dresses, Great Service, Great Place!!! 3/29/2007

Yes, you have to take your shoes off, but I believe this is good it keeps the place clean, therefore your dress and dresses stay clean. I have been there for several different weddings, one being my own and have been exceptionally pleased. I have never known Elizabeth's to fail at pleasing a wedding party and would suggest using Elizabeth's Bridal Manor for your special event. Elizabeth's has a fabulous collection of wedding gowns and brides? maid dresses to choose from along with great accessories, vails, shoes, flower girl dresses and more, more importantly experienced consultants. Highly recommended!!!!!!! Pros: Fabulous Gowns and Service more

Take your shoes off??? 1/17/2007

Do NOT take the time to go to this place. The people are soooo snobby I couldn't believe it! I have 10 girls standing up for me and a couple of us thought we'd make a day of going to bridal salons for ideas. MInd you I was looking for everything! My dress, bridesmaid dresses, shoes...the works! We walked in the door and the tight faced women behind the counter got on us for not making an appt. Then she said we had to take our shoes off before going further into the salon.....WHAT?? Take our shoes off to give you our business? The women made a comment ""oh you don't feel comfortable taking off your shoes?"" Actually I was just shocked because I have never ever heard of anything like that before. We all looked at eachother turned around and walked out the door. I have alot of money to spend and I'm not spending it there! I would rather be among people who don't look down at others for no reason. Hi, you work behind a counter at a bridal salon. Cons: No comfort level for a really stressful time in ones life! more

Atrocious service!! Go somewhere else! 8/19/2006

I was really shocked at how horrible EB was. The sales people are super pretentious and aggressive. You don't even get to look through the gowns, they just bring ones that they want you to try on. I brought in a few pictures of what I liked and felt I was pretty clear about it but she kept bringing me things in that were totally not my style and pushing me to put them on. To make matters worse, she didn't provide me with a strapless bra and then stayed in there the entire time while I switched dresses. This was really awkward for me. I think I can step in and out of a dress on my own. Again, when I told her that I didn't like something and would rather not step out of the fitting room to show my family, she was very pushy about me doing so. I only got about a 1/2 hour total and as soon as we were done she asked her boss if she could go home. Before we left, I stepped away to go to the bathroom and while I was there she rudely told my family, ""you don't even look like you are from the UP (Upper Peninsula)...you look like you could fit right into the city."" Sorry to disappoint you but we left our flannel shirts and sh*tkickers in the car. What the h*ll??!? Why would you even say that to someone who is coming in to drop several thousand dollars on a wedding gown. After trying on over 50 gowns, the one I loved the most, I found at this store; however, if I decide to go with this dress, I will go to Toronto or Barrington, IL to purchase it. Oh, btw...someone who's toes run over their shoes, has no authority to make derogatory comments about another's origin of nascence. Don't waste your time with this place. Cons: customer service, lack of variety...mostly big ballgowns, crowded fitting area more
