The food here is great! When you order make sure to ask for no onions in the cheese enchilada. Who puts onion in a cheese enchilada? The staff is wonderful! more

Mystery DIP???? 8/15/2009

The food is good and reasonably priced. But I really go there for the chips, salsa and mystery dip. The mystery dip is like butter and blue cheese. I cannot get enough and usually end up taking my dinner home because I filled up on the dip. I even go to get the dip from the take out window in the back. more

A favorite of the entire familys! 3/5/2009

We've been eating at El Charros for over 28 years... The chips and salsa are great but what I love is if you order a ""dos"", there is plenty for 2 meals. I always have whatever I've ordered again for lunch the next day and it's even better the second time around! El Charro is great for diners of all ages. more

This place is not good at all. When i ordered my food it looked as if it had been sitting in the kitchen for 5 hours before it got served to me. i was not pleased whatsoever. i do not reccomend this place to anyone. more

Okay Mexican 4/17/2008

I know a lot of people rave about this place, but I have never been very fond of it. I am vegan so I tend to omit and adjust menu items and they always seem to have trouble getting my order right and bringing me all the items I ordered- sometimes forgetting a side salad or veggies or something.However, the atmosphere is nice and its a convenient meeting place if you're focused more on social than on food. more

Fantastic Food, Great Service 1/19/2008

My wife and I are new to the area and were in the mood for some good mexican food. Checked out El Charro and we were not dissapointed. The chips and sala (including the blue cheec/garlic dip) were phenomenal and the wait staff was polite and very fast. Before I really got into my margarita the food had arrived. The sampler plate was outstanding! Noticed the huge amount of families presentt so it's a great place to bring the kids. I can't wait to go back when the weather is nice and we are able to eat outside on the deck. more

Best salsa and chips! 11/20/2006

Excellent Mexican food! I usually head into the cantina, where the waitresses are super friendly. The blue cheese/garlic dip (that comes with the free chips, salsa, and hot sauce) is phenomenal! We usually have to get a dish per person! The chicken enchilada sauce is very tasty, and there is a hefty serving of chicken in the enchiladas. The taco sauve is very good as well, with beef that is very tender (not ground, shredded). The seafood chimichanga is very crisp and the seafood isn't overcooked as it can be in these types of dishes. El Charro can get very crowded on weekends, but you can usually find a seat on the patio or cantina quite easily. If you're a newbie with a big appetite, I suggest the dinner sampler. The only menu item to stay away from is the flautas - a little overcooked. Pros: No wait for seating, ample parking in back Cons: The patio and cantina get very crowded on the weekends more

Good Mexican food 4/27/2005

We were here for dinner, and were treated to a solid meal. In addition to the salsa served with the chips, they serve a side of cheese spread that is quite tasty. The sampler platter was actually cheaper than a regular 2 item combo, and it came with 2 plates full of food. We would definately return. Pros: Tasty food, Affordable, Lots of seating more

this place should not be confused with ohter restaurats with the same name. this place can be a crazy party spot and at the same time cater to families. if you pass by lafayette, or even if you don't...it's a must Pros: friendly, lively, comforting Cons: addicting, busy, loud more
