Regal Edwards Valencia IMAX & ScreenX

Edwards is a nice big theater. Most of the time, their theater is clean and well kept. Their sound guys have it out for loud movies though. Be sure to tell them to adjust the sound if the movie is too loud, it almost always is. Their seats are comfortable, and have the armrest the moves up, so you can sit in a "loveseat." Conveniently located right off Town Center Drive. more

Edwards...eh. It's a suburban cinemapalacesuperdrome that is clean, well air-conditioned, centrally located and offers a vast array of wide-release films on modern equipment. A few downsides- always crowded, esp. for popular showings. There is no way of knowing in advance if a film is sold out, so you will inevitably take the kids (or significant other!), park in the giant parking garage, schlep down the three flights of stairs, across the perilous Cinema Drive, through the gaggles of loiterers and shoppers crowding the walkways only to find that your desired attraction has been sold out into the next day! BUMMER! I have never in my life been to a theater with more sold out showings- EVER. What can I say? People in the SCV must love movies! If you go, prepare to arrive early to get a good seat. If you are late, you will be forced to sit in the orchestra pit type area which is *ALWAYS* filled with rowdy, chatty, cellphones-a'ringin' teenagers who will giggle during dramatic scenes and make loud farting noises during romantic montages. Ugh. That is- unless you are choosing any type of artsy or critically acclaimed adult-geared film. Those usually don't sell out and are always teenager-free. Go artsy flicks!!! :D Popcorn occasionally stale, always overpriced. But hey...free butter! more

Edwards always seems well taken care of. It's usually very clean. It's centrally located, right at the heart of Town Center Drive. They always play all of the latest movies, with several showtimes. My only complaint is that the sound usually runs a little loud. It also pops in and out (only in the back speakers) on occasion. But usually a great theater overall. more

The Edwards 12 and IMAX movie theaters in Valencia's towncenter are great. I have seen movies in almost all of their theaters and they are all clean, large, and well equipped. They all have stadium seating and the staff is usually on the ball about technical issues with projection. I've never had to go ask them to turn up the sound or let them know a movie is out of focus. The food is of course on the pricey side and it appears that prices might have gone up recentl, but still that is the norm in the Southern California/ Los Angeles Metro area. The price of admissions too is inline with the rest of the area, in that it is pricey. The IMAX in particular is expensive, usually playing first run wide release movies. I have seldom seen an actual IMAX movie playing there. Ghosts of the Abyss was the last and only one I can remember. The IMAX screen is incredible, but worth the extra two dollars at night, or $5 matinee is not really worth it for me, but if you want your screen and sound as big as possible then it's the only way to go. The theater is also very nicely designed, with an open atrium and pleasing facade. Highly reommended, but then again there aren't too many theaters in Santa Clarita. more
