Not Too Shabby for a Community College 3/17/2006

If you take the right classes with the diligent professors you are going to have a blast. There are a variety of clubs and activities across campus. Of course like most schools there are slacker classes and also nightmare/weezy professors. The facilities are currently in renovation but the library is 300 years old with even older books. There is more than enough help and counseling from the staff. The transfer center there walk you through steps of transfer. It is also a great selection of physical education classes not offered in high school. more

Good at best 10/11/2005

This Community College is a very good college in the bay area. People travel from all over Norcal to take classes here because they aren't necessarily the hardest. Campus is nice, with great facilities. I think the only thing i would know is the fact that the parking situation is horrid at best. Getting into classes isn't easy either. The office is a bit small for the student body count. overall, great school. more

Excellent Jr. College 9/9/2005

Consistently ranks in the top three junior colleges. Excellent professors (including Nicky Yuen for Poli Sci, Bambhania for math, Newton for physics) and helpful adminstration. Many students who do a decent job transfer to Top 50 Four-year Universities. De Anza was a wonderful place to go. The library is also a great place to study. The Flint Center often houses performances by the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, Jewel, Yu Lina, etc. more

Friendly Community College, Good Night School Classes 8/14/2005

I took a night school class on Beginning Photography at De Anza College. The staff was friendly and the instructor was knowlegable. There is also plenty of parking at De Anza College (it's free after 5pm) so finding a spot for your car, especially if you commute, isn't difficult. I found the class selection to be pretty good. There are a wide variety of classes you can take at night, ranging from introductury computer programming (C or C++) to a variety of foreign languages (chinese, spanish, french, and german, to name a few) The photography class I took was well taught. We also had a well-stocked photo lab with all the developer, light machines, and tools you need. Overall, a great place to learn--whether you're studying for a new career or just taking classes for fun. more

Nearly anything you might want 6/20/2005

The DeAnza Flea Market is available once a month. This is a very large flea market with a huge variety of merchandise. You definately have to search through the junk to find the treasures, but if you love to treasure hunt (as I do) it can be a lot of fun. There is everything from hand-made crafts to off-brand necessities to old farm equipment. I have found it a very pleasant way to spend a weekend. more
