The Millenium Broadway Hotel New York is located in the heart of New York City's time square, on W 44th St. It's within walking distance of nearly all the the Broadway Theaters. For example, the Phantom of the Opera theater is only 2 blocks, or a 5 minute walk, away!
The hotel is geared towards business traveler. The rooms come with wireless and wired Internet (you have to pay extra). The beds are comfortable and the rooms are actually spacious (for new york city standards)
Expect to pay around $200 to $300 per room per each night. Rooms aren't cheap, but this is average for what a business room in New York City normally costs.

Perhaps one of the biggest and coolest exhibits at the Monterey Bay Aquarium is the really neat display of jellyfish. These jellies are bathed in a glow of orange and white light, and as they pulse in the night and glow in all different colors. They are a sight to behold.
There are lots of other great exhibits too here at the aquarium. There is a huge shark tank full of many different types of fishes including three tiger-head sharks. There are many exhibits and display that boggle the mind and where you just want to sit down and stare at amazement.
Visiting the aquarium is not cheap. Admission prices are about $17 per person; you can get group discounts and a membership (around $70) gives you access and admission to the aquarium for a full year.
Parking is a pain; there is no free parking around the aquarium but there is paid hourly parking in a couple of garages near the aquarium.

Dream is a botique hotel on W 55th St near the south end of Central Park. It's north of Times Square and definately within walking distance (around 10 minutes) of most of the major Broadway theaters and other Times Square attractions.
The rooms are a bit small, but resonable by New York City Standards. The rooms are well furnished and stacked with lots of rather chic amenities, including a Bose wave radio, connectors for your iPod, and even flat panel LCD televisions.
Pricing is not cheap--expect to pay around $200 to $300 per each night. But you do get what you pay for, and this hotel has service that is impeccable and the staff is magnificient.

Hotel Pennsylvania is located right above Penn Station in New York City and across the street from Madison Square Garden. The location can't be beat; if you're in town for a Knicks game or a concert, or just staying the night before you hop on a train for Boston at Penn Station, then the Hotel Pennsylvania is not a bad place to stay.
That said, it's kind of a budget hotel. The rooms are super-tiny, not terribly clean, and the windows don't shut all the way. (This is really bad if you're staying here during the winter; it is REALLY cold and freezing then so you'd better bring a comforter)
That said, you get what you pay for. A standard room is about $140 per night, which, for New York City standards, is super-cheap and inexpensive.

Golden Phoenix is a random asian supermarket located in the west part of Mountain View, on the corner of Rengstorff Ave and Middlefield Rd.
It stocks a variety of asian foods including noodles, asian soups, and lots of chinese cooking sauces. There is also a deli and a live seafood bar, but the selection of seafood you can pick from seems a bit stale and pre-frozen. It's not necessarily the freshest food I've seen.
Prices at Golden Phoenix are so-so. They aren't terribly cheap compared to other asian supermarkets like 99 Ranch, but they aren't too expensive either. If you live in Mtn View, the convienience of Golden Phoenix is great since the nearest large asian supermarket is over ten miles away.

Squaw Valley is perhaps Lake Tahoe's most adventurous and best ski resort. It's also the most expensive, with a lift ticket costing you around $70. (And that doesn't include any rentals or food!)
It has the most challenging terrain of any of the resorts in Lake Tahoe, and also usually gets the most snow. There are over 35 lifts at Squaw Valley, taking you to everything from beyond double black diamond to easy green bunny runs.
If you're an adventure skiier or boarder, then Squaw Valley is for you. Squaw Valley hosted a previous winter olympics--I don't remember what year--and the KT-22 run is trecherous, steep, fast, and fun. Crazy skiiers of all types will enjoy going down this wacko run.

Northstar at Tahoe is one of Lake Tahoe's best ski resorts. Located at the northen tip of Lake Tahoe, Northstar is a family-friendly place to take the kids, your snowboarding friends, your ski buddies, and any other snow lover to have fun during the winter.
I purchased a season pass to Northstar at Tahoe last winter, and had a blast. The mountains ranged from super challenging to really easy. As you become a better skier or snowboarder there is always terrain that will challenge you.
The resort's amenities are great. The food isn't cheap (then again, what ski resort has cheap food) but good and hearty. There's a cabin at the base, one mid mountain, and one at the peak, all serving different kinds of meals.
The village at the bottom of the resort has nearly 10 stores, from a place where you can get your skis tuned to a couple of restrauant.

B and H Photo Video is perhaps one of the largest camera shops in the world. They also have a huge online website (bhphoto.com) where you can purchase pratically any piece of photo or camera equipment your heart can desire.
I routinely buy film from B and H Photo. I've also purchased several digital cameras from B and H. Their staff is friendly, courteous and professional. I've asked several questions about cameras, or what emulsifier to use for my film developing, and I've always gotten my question answered.
The store is located on 9th Ave in New York City. One interesting fact about this store--it's run by an orthodox Jewish family so the store closes on the Sabbath (every saturday) and on Jewish holidays like passover.
