Creative Deck Designs

We recently used Creative to build a Screen room, Deck & Patio. We are extremely pleased with the outcome. The design could not have been better and we just love the stone fireplace. We will recommend them to everyone. A great product and a great value! more

I had a previously installed deck done by another, now bankrupt, company who improperly installed vinyl railings (safety hazard). I met with Bob, the owner of Creative Vinyl, and he gave me excellent prices to either fix or replace the railing because I had been taken by the other company. Since this railing work was part of a large backyard project, I decided to replace the railing and to just buy the railing parts from Creative and get the contractor that I already had for the rest of the project to do it. Bob was happy to do this and was an invaluable resource durring the whole project (most contractors would be upset and unhelpful if they didn't get the full job). Bob and his staff were instrumental in designing and fabricating custom stair railing and fencing as well. The products he sold me were high-quality and a vast improvement over the old railing (in looks and function). On top of all of this, his prices were much better than the big-box retailers I checked with. Amazing! I cannot imagine where these positive coments came from. Really, this company provided the worst service I ever experenced and the owner was arrogant. I purchased a fence from this outfit that they installed. I am left with gates that do not close and lock properly and fencing that was not installed as I requested. They hound you for final payment (nasty) and once you pay them they do not want to correct any problems. Can't imagine how they stay in business. Will correct fencing problems myself and never do business with them again. Do yourself a favor and stear clear of Creative Decks. more

I have used Creative Deck Designs a couple of times now and have been pleased with the results. I had my fencing replaced in the back yard about three years ago. The rep who assessed the job was very professional. He explained all my options and showed me photos of jobs they had done. He gave me a very competitive price. The job was started when promised. The work was skillfully completed to my good pleasure. I was so pleased with the job that they did on my fence that when I needed my front porch redone, I called them. It was a great experience. The showed up promptly and cleaned up everyday before they left. The crew was wonderful and they kept me informed. I had an addition built and my deck resurfaced and had composite rails added. I wanted the deck to match my siding, and creative brought out samples and I found the perfect match. From start to finish they kept me informed. I am very pleased with Creative and would recommend them. more

I have been using Creative Deck Designs for years - I can say enough about the great customer service, the professional workmanship and follow-up service I have received from this company. I would not hire anyone else! First I had a 3-story addition put on the back on my home in Perry Hall; then a renovated kitchen; then a screened-in porch on the side of my house which a few years later I had closed in to make a sunroom and a front porch and just a few months ago, I had Creative put a privacy fence around my large yard. The work was done quickly and any concerns or questions I had were immediately addressed and with professionalism. I see a few other reviews that are not very flattering and am very surprised. I can only say my experiences were excellent - above and beyond! more

Please do not use this company. They DO NOT stand behind their work or their products. We had a brand new synthetic deck installed and shortly therafter it started to fade. After finally coming out to look at it they agreed to replace the faded boards and take care of the problem. Unfortunately, they never showed up and then when I finally was able to reach the owner, Bob Lehman, he said it was my problem or a manufacturer's and they would not fix anything. He even lied and said they never sold the materials ( Azek) that they installed and that he tried to talk me out of using this particular brand. None of this is true. When I reminded him that they had a large sample of the decking installed in front of their showroom and that's how I noticed the particular brand, he retracted this and said ""well I don't sell it anymore"". Bottom line is that this is not a reputable company that will not stand behind their work or products if there is a problem. more

We paid nearly $12,000 for a vinyl fence (a lot of property) and the price was comparable to other quotes. None of the installers spoke English. When the man arrived to pick up the day-laborers, I noted that the 3 gates would not swing. He told me to call the company. We called and called and were finally told ""It is what it is and you'll have to live with it."" I wanted to put their sign on our property but they never gave me one. We lived with it for a few months. The day before Thanksgiving, the owner called me and said he'd be out to get the balance due on our contract and I'd ""better be home."" We actually had to hire an attorney to get them to come out to even address the problem. When our attorney called the owner, the owner asked my attorney how many fences my attorney had installed and what did he know about it. Horrible, horrible experience. Run quickly to the internet and hire any other company but this one. more

I hired Creative Decks to build my deck last Spring. At first I was happy with everything until the job started to drag on FOREVER. I contacted the owner Bob and he was incredibly rude and lied about the original scope of the contract. The workers showed up to work late, played loud music and often left trash all over my property. To make matters worse, Creative Decks never called in a final inspection on my project and the permit expired. When I called baltimore county to asked what I could do they said I would have to pay for a new permit and ask for a new final inspection. To date I am still without a final inspection and this situation has caused big problems with me trying to sell my house since the deck is has never been finalized with the County. I have gotten the run-around from Bob the owner and he says it's ""my problem."" Do not use this company, they are nothing but liars. more
