This restaurant is not in a safe place. I've scored it low for two reasons: the food and the crime in the area. Corky's is a tourist attraction, the BBQ is so so. (Germantown Commissary is the place to go for the best BBQ). My company used Corky's to cater events. During the holidays 25 staff members got sick, vomitting, diarrhea, the whole bit. 5 monthsl later we decided to give them another try as we had a large group come in from out of the area. I was very careful about what I ate but still had stomache issues the next day. They seem to undercook the chicken if catering to a large group, be careful. To add insult my car window was smashed and laptop stolen in broad daylight. If you are a business person, be careful not to leave anything in your car, the crime in Memphis is bad and there have been smash and grab crimes in this location. Corky's was sympathetic but offered lttle else. I have spoken to management and suggested they install camera's to deter this and protect their customers. They have camera's at the drive through, but not in front of the restaurant where my car was parked. Let's see what they do. In the meantime consider yourself warned. more

I have eaten at the Germantown Corky's every time I pass thru Memphis. I love this location and the food. I have never had to wait for a table but the food is just as good as the signature location. Pros: All was Good, close to I-40 Cons: None to mention more

New to Memphis we expected great bbq. Locals all say ""Corky's"" but we're dumbfounded. The ribs are tender but the sandwich meat lacks smokey flavor so it's boring and the ""splash"" of sauce they put on it doesn't help. The coleslaw is bland, too. We live in California and travel to Memphis to visit family every year. Every time we go we have to eat at Corky's at least once. We even have our relatives ship us the sauce and dry rub. The food is incredible and the service is true southern hospitality. I would highly recommend Corky's to anyone who likes to have a great meal at a great price and doesn't mind getting a little messy in the process. Corky's has got to be the best bar-b-q in the U.S. I am from Philadelphia and I was there visiting and my friend told me if you don't like Corky's well...there just isn't any better. The dry ribs are excellent for those who really don't like barbeque sauce and if you appreciate fresh homemade coleslaw and yeast rolls this is the place for you. Here is a tip if you go make sure you don't eat anything before going because you will get full very quckly..and for all that you get...it is not expensive at all! I live in Indiana, but every time I have been to Memphis I have gone to Corky's. They have the BEST BBQ I have ever tasted! Great selections of famous pork, chicken, or beef brisket- that is to DIE for! Now I am moving to that area and I can go there regularly. I Highly recommend you try it out when you are there.
