Conklin Appliance

Bought a new fridge at Conklin's and had a very positive experience. Sales guy was nice & friendly even helping with Cash for clunkers forms on the old broken fridge I was replacing. Delivery guys were very careful hauling in the new fridge, careful not to scratch fridge or door molding/hardwood floors. Would buy from them again! more

Good: All seems well when you're purchasing appliances, and we purchased top of the line kitchen appliances (5) plus a high end washer/dryer. Friendly while taking your money and then ZERO customer service. We were trying to support a small, local, family business.. Bad: Washer broke after six months - had to wait for parts to be ordered and then told "too bad, can't fit you in the schedule" for the parts to be installed. Out one week without a clothes washer and not a priority! Buy somewhere else. Promised repairmen were employees, but we dealt with a subcontractor.. more

I purchased an element for an old GE cooktop at Conklin World and to my dismay when I tried to return it (Yes, it was past 30days and as it turned out it was not the right part and therefore my husband was unable to install)I was told by Susan Chisan ,the manager - and I quote "it's not my fault that you didn't bring it back within 30 days!" She was extremely rude and could use some much needed training in customer service. Not only will I never return to Conklin World, I am certainly going to share my experience with everyone I know and suggest they never step foot inside the door. The package to that the part was sold in had been opened (we wouldn't have known it was the wrong part until we tried to install) but it is clear the part was never used and, in fact, is exactly as it was the day it was purchased. BEWARE: Conklin's does not stand behind their merchandise! more

After buying a number of appliances at Conklin's, I purchased a new dishwasher from them. The salesman talked me into purchasing a more expensive one which included a 5-year maintenance agreement. After the fourth time it broke down, the maintenance company tried to contact me to cash out the balance on my maintenance agreement. They wanted to subtract the cost of the repairs from the price I paid for the DW and pay me the balance & cancel my agreement. However, they had the wrong phone number. In the meantime, it broke a 5th time. The maintenance company refused to repair it and refused to honer the lemon law. All that Conklin would do was send a repairman out to install a used part. Needless to say, I will not be buying my new appliances there. more

I have had great experiences here and one bad one...I have done a lot of business with them though and overall, they meet my needs and do it well. I was just in there the other day and while I did not end up buying from them, the salesman was excellent. No pressure, knowledgeable and cute too! What's not to like? hehe Ok...getting a little silly today but seriously...my overall experience has been good at Conklin's. They usually have great prices and a large selection. They can also usually order bits and parts of existing appliances. more

Copy of Letter we recently recieved: I recently had a fridge fail in our mini heat wave. I called very one in my area (Edmonds,Wa). Sears, Best Buy and Lowes...No one could get me a decent fridge in under a week. I called some of the mom and pop places and Conklin's said same day if I could get down to pick one out. I was nervous that I would have to select a fridge that I really didn't want. But, no...they had a huge selection like over 40 of them on the floor and he said they had more in warehouse. I found a model I liked and they had it in the warehouse in my finish. True to their word,It was at my place around 5pm. They set it up and even hooked up the water, hauling away the old dead unit for me...These guys are A+ in my book. Excellent no pressure sales staff, great service and true to their word. My wife and I just purchased a high end Whirlpool washer and dryer set from Conklin's. The time and date commitment made by Conklin's was not met and not even a feeble apology was offered. When the installers gouged the bathroom floor moving the washer and dryer into the utility room, there was again not even a perfunctory apology when my wife called the office to complain. When I called back to ask about some compensation to defray the cost of having the floor repaired, I was told that what happened couldn't possibly have happened and what we had been told couldn't possibly have been said. It was one of the weirder conversations I have ever been a part of. Again there was no apology and I was informed that my wife and I should have "known" what needed to be done to protect our floor during the installation. I wasn't sure exactly what was meant by that. I did get to speak to the actual installer again. He did offer a genuine sounding apology and shared with me useful advice about floor and wall protect for the future: put old blankets or quilts for the floor, open all doors that might obstruct access and tape cardboard to all door frames and wall corners. It sure would have been nice if someone had told us that in the first place. Needless to say, we are not planning to purchase any more products from Conklin's. more
