Family Friendly Restaurant 11/10/2008

I like the wood cabin pub look and feel of the place. Plus, it is very close to the beach so you can go on the strand to digest after such a high calories dinner like that. Hell! you might just want to run it out on the strand and come for more later... Pros: Good Greasy American Food Cons: A little pricy more

Worst ribs I have ever tasted! 3/26/2008

My friend suggested we try this place as he went a few years ago and it was good. We went and had their ribs. The ribs had no taste, very bland. Also the towering onion rings--too fatty and greasy. My friend was surprised that the quality of the food went down south. Of course, we will never go back again. There are other places that serve better ribs. Search on this site for suggestions. For me I'm probably going to try JB's in Culver City. Cons: Food more

Chicago Ribs in Redondo Beach is not the place to go for BBQ 2/24/2008

I live in the Riviera Village in Redondo Beach within walking distance of this CFR restaurant. The first time I ordered food from there was delivery. I ordered beef and pork ribs, potato salad and the onion rings. The onion rings were good, but that was all. The ribs were obviously baked and not barbequed on a grill, then slathered with realively bland BBQ sauce. The pork ribs were the same, but no carmelized BBQ sauce on them, just the catsup-consistency sauce they used. I paid almost $50.00 and was very disappointed. I had such high hopes for this p[ace since there are no decent barbeque places near the Village. Pros: Onion rings, coleslaw, potato skins, all of those are great. Cons: This is a BBQ restaurant and the ribs are the biggest dissapointment. more

Oh Wow 10/1/2007

I went to the westchester location a few times. The first time I was so disappointed I said i'd never go back. In passing conversation, some guy at a supermarket told me to go back and give it another shot. I did and felt the same way. Read the review on here and decided that it's possible I just caught them on two off days so I went back again. I really, honestly have to say that these are the worst ribs I've ever eaten in my life. One time I messed up on the barbeque, pretty badly at that, and they were better than this. Dry, meatless, fatty, flavorless, veiny, stringy beef ribs with a sauce that tasted about exciting as BullsEye mixed with catsup. I HATE giving bad reviews but truthfully, this place is scamming the unknowing public into thinking that it's BBQ. People, this is not BBQ. This is fast food served at a sit-down restaurant. For anyone who likes this place and / or claims it's good, I would LOVE to go to dinner with you and take you to some real BBQ joints. This place is virtually disgusting in the realm of real BBQ. Might as well get ribs at Vons. Pros: Nice, Clean restaurant. Cons: I'd literally rather eat a Mc Rib. more

Great BBQ - but try the Westchester loacation first - better! 6/25/2006

We have been going to Chicago for Ribs for a looooooong time. We started with the (old) Wilshire location (no longer part of the chain), tried Redondo Beach, and then discovered Westchester on Lincoln Blvd (a little way from Loyola University). This location is closer than Redondo for us. We consider it to be the best! Great! Great! beef ribs. Get the chopped salad to share and a large order of beef ribs to share and you have some mighty fine eatn'. Go early and avoid the crowds, as this place can get BUSY! Try it - you'll like it!! Pros: Great food and better than average service; prices are ver good. Cons: The wait on Saturday night. more

You've got to be kidding 5/17/2006

I will be honest, I haven't been here lately...mainly because the food is Not Good. The place is crowded, hot (temp.), lots of screaming kids, uncomfortable booths. If you like this sort of thing, this is your place. It was much better when Tony Romas was here. Do only employees of Chicago For Ribs write the reviews? more

Customer Service Standards Are Slipping 8/22/2005

The food is great as always, but please tell the management that certain servers have too much attitude. Yes, it can be busy at times, but I don't want to have to wait a long time to have my order taken and have my drinks served. It used to be perfect here up until fairly recently. Some servers are rude and impertinent. more

Best of Chicago 7/8/2004

Have been a long time lover of Chicago 4 Ribs and other b-b-q places. This is the largest of the chain with a full bar, music, and outdoor patio. great food, nice people serving you. A great place to go when walking around the Riviera village area of Redondo Beach. Pros: Great sauce!, Great service!, Full Bar! more
