Casa Mare

Casa's is actually a chain in FW. They have 5 locations, all with a different decorating scheme. The restaurants are family owned, and all of the recipes are originally family recipes. I have been going to different Casa restaurants for years, and have yet to have a bad experience. My favorite dinner to get there is their "Pasta con Verdura". You pick your own pasta, and it comes tossed in a heavy white cream sauce with mushroom slices. Then you pick your vegetable. I always get broccoli, but I hear the asparagus is good. I highly reccomend their chocolate mousse cake for dessert, which is a fabulous treat! Their menu is VERY reasonably priced and their house salad is legendary. Every meal also comes with a loaf of soft italian bread and butter. Definitely check them out when you are in the FW area! more

I have to disagree with the majority.......the local Casa chain is not one of my favorites. First and foremost I wish they would change their bread! Since Casa's is a tradition in the Fort Wayne area, I go there frequently for business lunches, gatherings of friends, etc. because it is a popular dining destination for Fort Wayne residents. I have always been disappointed in the bread - you could use it for the proverbial hockey puck. When I'm at a business lunch the last thing I want to have to do is struggle tearing my bread apart or having to try to gnaw off a bite. Not only is the crust hard, when you do get to the inside bread there is not a lot of flavor. Another thing that irks me is that one of the things Casa's does very right - their pizzas are only available at certain locations. I've had margarita pizza at a number of restaurants and Casa's does it better than anyone else - why not make it available at each location? The Casa salad is a legend in the Fort Wayne area - many people have strived to duplicate it at home and frankly, I don't understand why. There are those of us who either don't like cheese or can't eat cheese yet the dressing for the Casa salad is LOADED with cheese - no thanks! If I want Italian food in Fort Wayne, I'll go to either Biaggi's or The Italian Connection. more

The Casa chain has several restaurants, but some are better than others. This one has excellent food and fine service. Check out their nightly specials. For the most part, Fort Wayne native things do not stand up well to competition from national chains, but this restaurant is an exception. Wonderful nightly specials! more

Casa Mare is one of my favorite Italian Restaurants in Fort Wayne. The service is impeccable, the decor is relaxing.. The best part of any meal at Casa Mare is the Salad Casaburo...oh WOW! it is wonderful!! The menu is extensive and varied you will have a hard time deciding what to order. I never had a bad meal there They meals have large delicious portions with a loaf of great Italian bread. This is a Fort Wayne institution more
