A friend brought me to Cafe Hidalgo, and I was pleasantly surprise. The restaurant is situated in downtown Fullerton among other restaurants that are all not quite noticeable, but its flavors definitely are more than noticeable. I had the daily special, Grilled Salmon with Caviar Sauce. The fish was appropriately grilled, and the caviar, which is really Japanese fish eggs, is nicely made into a delicious sauce. Other people in the party had the steaks and seafood pasta, all of the items are complimented. Dessert wise, the chocolate creme brulee mentioned in a previous review is worth a try, but the flan is really not so good, so stick with the creme brulee.
Pros: taste, relax ambience, no wait
Cons: location a bit hidden
