CACCIUCCO 5/15/2008

The only place that makes me drive over the bridge...and still i can't proununce ""Cacciucco"". Trendy, casual, fun place...the food is extraordinary and those Italian guys are charmy and friendly. Love the east coast ambiance and the great music. Good place! more

The food is very good 4/13/2008

went there first time on a Saturday evening in a party of 3, called in an hour earlier to make a reservation, was able to get a patio table within an hour, nice greeting and quickly response to our needs, the food was excellent and good presented. Price is absolutely ok. The Waiter was a little to stressed didn't ask if everything is ok or how the food was, actually you were able to eat without interruptions. But for me as an european I do not need the ""over-friendly-game-play"", so it was not really bothering me. If you want to be pampered you're in the wrong place. However the food was like I mentioned it earlier excellent and we went overall statisfied home. I would highly recommend this place to others. Pros: food is excellent Cons: place is often crowed and staff a little stressed more

Unique, yet authentic Italian cuisine 1/16/2008

When I go to an Italian restaurant I like to order something that I don't usually cook at home. With most restaurants this is a problem as they serve the usual pasta, seafood and meat, etc. This is not the case at Cacciucco. Their menu is reminiscent of our trip to Italy, with unique dishes - wild boar, lobster ravioli, fish stew - things that are not usually found at Italian restaurants in America. The exclusively Italian wine list is fantastic. Thank you, Cacciucco, for being in Marin. more

AWESOME 12/20/2007

This place is AWESOME, they serve the most authentic tuscan food i ever had in the bay area. The pasta is homemade and they serve an incredible hot cruncy bread to die for. If they have the black liguine seafood on special trust me ORDER IT!!! So many choices of delicious appetizers but go for the rolls of prosciutto with mascarpon or the polenta with mushrooms. I did not tried the pizza yet but it looks great!!! more

EXTRAORDINARY DINNER 12/10/2007

I drove by this place hundreds of times and heard great things about it, but i never tried their food before. We made a reservation for saturday for the four of us. Oh boy! I've never though i would have such a great dinner. It was my lucky day, they had ""ossobuco""special with porcini (best i ever had).Starting from the appetizers to the desserts our dinner was extraordinary. The waiters are all Italian, our server was actually the owner himself!! He picked the wine and some of our entrees. Many of other guests were Italians and we knew we were in the right spot. We found ourself relaxing and chatting at our table for over two hours and we were never rushed. Service and food are impeccable, authentic and no pretentious. They'll see me again soon!\r more

best kept neighborhood secret! 11/29/2007

Amazingly friendly staff, flavors are delightful, super wine list. Davide is the most excellent chef! more

CINQUE STELLE 10/22/2007

First we shared few appetizers including an amazing polenta with mushrooms and fried calamari, then i ordered ""spaghetti scoglio"" very nice dane with jumbo scampi, clams, mussels, crayfish and calamari, the sauce was just right not too spicy and not too saucy. The Elk filet mignon was also excellent but too gamey for my taste (my guests loved it), Best of all was probably the Crab ravioli, they had a light sauce of lemon and shelled clams......unique, fresh and just so right. I was the only one to ask the waiter to pick a glass of wine for my dinner... and it was perfect. The place was packed and we waited a good 15 minutes before be seated and we didn't mind, the host apologized for the delay and offer a glass of champagne to all of us....we refused but very much appreciated. All in all our dinner was amazing, the music they play is incredibly nice.some thecno-jazz-flamenco or whatever it is Amazing. Was our first time at Cacciucco, we live in San francisco and we promise to visit it at list once a month. Cacciucco is now one of our favorite restaurants. Pros: FOOD MUSIC AND ATMOSPHERE more

Tuscan Tragedy 10/20/2007

Here is how this bio should really read:\r Nestled in the hills of an unattended parking lot, with false promises of majestic bay views, lies this strobe light honey of a ""restaurant."" Chef Davide, like other predecesors of the roman empire, have found a way to magically transform a bag of frozen grocery store ravioli to an overpriced ""home-made Tuscan delicassy."" I, as a respected chef, searched out and discovered this jewel as a place to have a memorable night. But instead, much to my dismay, I came upon - A shack of an establishment fitted with ""there's parking downstairs,"" $5 table clothe's, and a lifeless mummy of a server that - when we asked him if our pancake-looking excuse of something was ""agniolotti"" he casually proclaimed, ""ey...eh...if the boss says it's agniolotti --- then..(pause) - it's agniolotti."" \r \r At that point - we said ""va fangulo"" Took a chance and ordered ""panacotta"" and what we received could have maybe passed for a milk-gello-at a Cambodian refugee camp in 1985 in 90' degree heat. The coup de gras of our ""Genuine Tuscan Experience"" was that the above piece of culinary art came doused in nothing but the best - that's right, Hershey's ""squeeze"" syrup. Escape from the tourist traffic of dowtown and lose yourself in this Sausilito Slum. PS - Looking forward to soggy calamari with ""Prego"" sauce to make your head spin. Disclaimer"" ""you've been warned."" Cons: you name it. more

BUONISSIMO 8/3/2007

Their Lobster ravioli are just pure ecstasy. They melt in your mouth and you are in heaven. Everything was great but those ravioli are unforgettable. We had a flambe'of blackberry with gelato made at our table by the chef. One of my best dining experience. Pros: LOBSTER RAVIOLI AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN...... more

FANTASTIC 7/19/2007

Absolutely FANTASTIC!!! Really cool ambiance with fabulous music and trendy atmosphere. The food here is extraordinary....everything we order was delicious and fresh. Modern Tuscan cuisine that's what they call it at Cacciucco. One of their chef made one spectacular flambe' of blackberry and cherry by our table. They use only Italian ingredients including wines, cheeses and some of their seafood as well. The servers are great, friendly and full of suggestions. A great discover....my favorite so far! 6 stars.\r more

EXCELLENT SERVICE!! 6/14/2007

10 points to the servers who managed a very rude and extremely demanding MARIN SOCCERMAMA. \r The manager/owner asked nicely to keep her kids at the table with no success.....or sign of improvement.\r Thankfully her dinner was quick and we could restart our excellent and pleasant dining experience.\r We love CACCIUCCO and we have dinner there at least twice a month. I have to say that we enjoy the food, the atmosphere and the friendly service we always receive. Highly recommended! Pros: Extraordinary food and service. more

LOVE IT!! 5/26/2007

NICE PLACE!! NO CHEAP BUT ABSOLUTELY WORTH EVERY PENNY. MY DINNER WAS PERFECT, I HAD AN INCREDIBLE CREAMY MOZZARELLA CAPRESE AND A SEARED AHI TUNA COOKED TO PERFECTION. MY DATE ORDERED A CHAMPAGNE RISOTTO WITH ABALONE AND A SPINACH SALAD TO DIE FOR. THEIR WINE LIST FEATURES ONLY ITALIAN WINES AND IS DIFFERENT, FUN AND UNIQUE. WHAT I LOVED THE MOST WAS THE MUSIC ON BACKGROUND A MODERN MIX OF FLAMENCO, JAZZ, TECHNO.....???? WAS SIMPLY FANTASTIC, ABSOLUTELY APPROPRIATE AND PLEASANT. THE SOFT CANDLE LIGHTING MAKE THE AMBIANCE ROMANTIC AND COZY BUT AT OUR TABLE WAS HARD TO READ THE MENU. THE SERVERS ARE PROFESSIONAL AND NOT ALL OVER YOU. WE NEVER MISSED WATER, BREAD AND NEVER BOTHERED DURING OUR CONVERSATIONS. THE PARKING SITUATION IS CONFUSING, THEY HAVE A PRIVATE LOT BELOW THE RESTAURANT BUT NOT SIGN FOR DIRECTIONS. I GUESS THE PERFECT RESTAURANT DOES NOT EXISTS BUT CACCIUCCO IS BY FAR THE BEST RESTAURANT IN TOWN. Pros: AUTHENTIC ITALIAN AT IS BEST....GREAT AMBIANCE AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICE. more

ECXELLENT...EXCELLENT...EXCELLENT 5/24/2007

Cool ambiance and great service. Good selection of vegetarian dishes and fresh seafood. The selection of only Italian wines is fun and impressive. We order a Burrata (bufala mozzarella) and two pastas, everything was delicious and fresh. The pasta is homemade and the focaccia bread is baked on site as well.\r We had a flambe' of fresh fruit made at our table by the owner.....what a show!!! Best in Sausalito by far. Pros: COOL AMBIANCE AND GREAT SERVICE.......THE FOOD IS SPECTACULAR!!!! more

Highly Recommended 5/22/2007

I love Cacciucco. This great restauran follows a formula to his own. Different from every Italian restaurant in town...it's not touristy....very authentic....and the food is unique and modern. The place is cozy and romantic. The atmosphere relaxing and confortable. We love enjoy a glass of wine at the bar before dinner, so we can talk with David the owner wich always take very good care of us and every other guest. Their menu changes seasonally and the daily specials are always incredible. The wine list has an impressive variety of Italian wines, mostly Tuscan. Cacciucco open about 3 years ago and is going strong since. It' s the favorite restaurant of local people like me. Cacciucco is Highly Recommended! Pros: Local's favorite restaurant, people watching, fresh ingredients, excellent service. more

5 stars all the way!!!! 5/19/2007

My husband and i discoverd this restaurant few months ago and we've been numerous times since then. Quality is what Caccivcco is about. We love their selection of unique wines from Italy, we always ask for suggestion and we were never disappointed. The food is outstanding, some dishes more innovative and somehow exotic but all very authentic and well prepared. On weekends one of their chefs is in the dining room performing spectacular flambes by the guest table. The service is impeccable and friendly, Davide the owner is always present and very helpfull. Absolutely one of the best Italian restaurant in the bay area.\r Great atmosphere and trendy ambience as well with soft candle light and fasbulous techno-jazz music.\r We like to recommend it to everybody. 5 stars all the way!!!!!!!!! Pros: Relaxing atmosphere, Not kids friendly, outstanding food, italian wines selection more

We had a fantastic experience...they have a chef in the dining room preparing food by your table. The menu is full of innovative dishes and the wine features only Italian wine. Pros: Good service, chef in the dining room, great wine list more

BEST DINNER 4/20/2007

One of the best dinner i've ever had in an Italian restaurant. The food is fantastic and authentic......service, professional and friendly. I loved the atmosphere and the music euro-techno was fabulous. Perfect spot for a date. Thank you more

Best Italian Food - highly recommend 4/16/2007

Cacciucco is the best Italian food in Marin County, and only the freshest of ingredients are used to prepare the authenic Tuscan cuisine offered in this charming little restaurant. David, the owner, always welcomes his guests with a warm greeting, and he is always on hand to offer suggestions and make sure everyone is pleased with their food. In addition, there is a chef on the weekends that prepares scrumptous dishes tableside, a lovely personal touch that I haven't seen offered in years. Don't miss an opportunity to experience Italian food at it's finest, and be sure to try the prosciutto rolls filled with mascarpone, walnuts and radicchio served with truffle flavored fresh arugola, an appetizer to die for!
