great 8/8/2011

We visit Bud's Seafood at least once a month, and if Sherrie(waitress) is on duty our ice cold wine shows up before we order dinner. The Ceasar salad is the best, with the freshest romaine lettuce. The main course is always delicious. The sourdough french bread is great. The service is very friendly. more

best seafood joint! 8/1/2011

One of the best seafood joints in Stockton. A little pricey but well worth it. Food is great, drinks are mixed well and clam chowder is excellent. A must for Stockton. more

Great 7/25/2011

I've been to Bud's several times. I love the clam chowder. I must say my favorite dishes are the non seafood dishes. The chicken marsala is outstanding and so is Bud's beef. We went this Tuesday for the lobster dinner. An 8 oz tail for twenty bucks. You can't beat that. It was cooked perfectly. Not crazy about the boiled potatoes or the veggies. A little on the bland side. I noticed while perusing the menu that the prices have gone up. I've always had good service here. Cheesecake is also amazing. more

awsome! 7/21/2011

Tremendous food...all items on the menu that we have ever ordered are quite good. Bud's Beef is my fav, even tho this is a seafood place. But have had the crab Louie and that is excellent...fresh crab, fresh greens. However like most restaurants they smother the salads, so ask for the dressing on the side. Grilled fish is great: salmon, catfish or trout are done to perfection, tender but not undercooked. Full bar helps win this place points. more

great 7/19/2011

Pretty good. We lucked out and ordered the Lobster special. Yum! And it was pretty cheap. Lobster tail for only $19.95..wait a minute, is that a good deal? Well it was worth it. Love their seafood combination plate too. Oh one note, don't get their salads...think yellow/white iceberg lettuce :-( Instead order their chowder..it's pretty good. more

Appreciate the service! A+ 7/15/2011

"While the food is not flashy, it is consistent and good. My favorite things to order here are the clam chowder (haven't had any better - even on the East Coast), whatever fresh fish is available (I ask the food server), the Bud's Beef - which is amazing, and the Chicken Marsala. The salads are great, too. For dessert, the cheesecake is outstanding, as is the flan and the pots de creme. I also love to come here for Sunday Brunch -- their scrambles, quiche and eggs benedict are awesome. Stockton is not the Bay Area and the restaurants unfortunately have to cater to their demographic. Some of these reviews are unfair. I've had my share of overpriced and underwhelming meals in SF. Bud's is a gem and one of the few family owned restaurants still standing in Stockton among the many crappy chains that have opened." more

GREAT!!!! =) 7/13/2011

"First off, thank you Stockton Restaurant Week for helping me find this place tucked away in the Lincoln Center! I had the pleasure of getting a 3 course meal from this restaurant which offered me some of the best of what Bud's has to offer. Me and my fellow guest ordered 2 different plates so that we could try even more. To start, our waitress was very friendly and was very conversational. We were seated in the bar area which was very small but well kept. The sourdough bread for appetizer was cold, but was great with the yummy clam chowder that the meal came with. The clam chowder is what I would describe as ""hearty"" and contained a lot of thick pieces of bacon. The bacon may have been a little overpowering but the clam chowder hit the spot. For the entrees, we tried two different plates: - Macadamia Crusted Mahi Mahi: This dish tasted great with a little lemon and a little tartar sauce on the top. It was surprisingly a little heavy but it was a great dish. - Steak Medallions and Prawns: These steak medallions were TO DIE FOR! The steak was so tender and soft and the juiciness was an amazing thing. The serving was small but just right. The prawns were also a nice touch. Overall, I hope to come back to this Bud's!" more

Delicious! 7/8/2011

I got the pesto filled salmon today and it was great. I normally don't care for steak fries but I enjoyed these. The sour dough bread and butter kept coming and so did the refills YAY The iced tea was perfect too. I would like to come way more often and try all the fish more

Truly delicious 6/9/2011

"Bud's touts itself as a Seafood Grille but isn't shabby when it comes to other choices. Moderate to somewhat expensive price tags are tempered a bit via a lunch time rather dinner hour experience: a bowl of their truly delicious clam chower with a special salad or sandwich gets the nod here. Their special marinated beef-medallions of slightly sweetish, wine-inflected tenderloin appears both in an amped up steak sandwich and taking pride of place on the smallish dinner menu. Chicken breast, a few well-prepared Italian choices and a good half dozen choices in grilled/baked/broiled or fried seafood, scampi and the like all provided above average execution. My favorite, besides the chowder? A very decent Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, on the soft, hoagie-style bread made famous by City of Brotherly Love single name eateries like Pat's, Jim's and Geno's. Atmosphere is a bit yuppified, some counter help and waitstaff seem to need a refresher course on the concept of Service as an Art. Patrons with Dockers will receive better treatment than ones 'slumming' in denim, no matter how freshly washed-dressy casual is the play." more

Good place to stop 6/1/2011

My wife surprised me on a date night and we went to an old favorite of her's Bud's Seafood. Loved everything from the rolls to the desert. Awesome food and great service with a smile. Well worth every penny spent there that night without a doubt. I must say they also have some of the best Clam chowder I have eaten. Good place to stop for a hearty flavorful lunch too. more
