just moved to town, and thought we would try a new place for my birthday. The atmosphere was exactly what you would expect in an authentic pub. The food was amazing! Too Hyped 1/22/2011

Definitely did NOT live up to the HYPE. The steaks, 20 bucks for less than 12oz., were standard fair and overcooked, but had good flavor. The beer/cheese dip was good but barely there and the pretzels are the frozen kind any bowling alley can get. The waitress was a sour sort and acted as if we were bothering her. She brought our meals and dropped them on the table without even asking if she could get us anything else. We called for her three times as she walked by without even a nod from her. My baked potato was so cold that the butter did not even melt. I don't know how it tasted as I didn't even eat it. more

Great Pizza & Beer 1/7/2011

We LOVE to go to Black Horse! They have a deal (week days & Sundays only) that is 2 med. pizza's and a pitcher of their beer for $35! You cant beat it! Perfect for 3-4 people! The boys love the Heartattack pizza with every different kind of meat on it and I LOVE the Tusany (might have spelled it wrong). It is a Honey Chicken Curry pizza that is AMAZING! I crave it after not going there for a while! The beer cheese dip is great also! We always get the Barn Stormer Red beer with our pizza! We also like to take beer with to enjoy at home! more

It doesn't get much better 4/9/2010

The Blackhorse is a great place to go. My friends and I go weekly (sometimes more haha) and can't get enough. The beer cheese dip is phenomenal whether its with their homemade chips or fresh big soft pretzels. Wednesdays are my favorite days to go but Pizza is always a great choice. They make some outstanding soups year round and I hope your lucky enough to be there on crabcake days! Their line up of ales is great and just when you thinks its over the seasonal brews are fantastic too (Smoked Molasses Porter...WOW)!! Pros: EXCELLENT ALES, great beer cheese dip, outstanding Pizzas Cons: ...Very few; sometimes the wait times are a con but rarely more

Worst microbrew that I have encountered 1/17/2009

If you are ever in Clarksville TN and want to visit a local microbrewery I would suggest giving Blackhorse pub a miss. There seem to be good reviews for this place, so I thought that it would be a worthwhile venture, that would be a mistake. Their beer has a low alcohol content and their pail ale is simply undrinkable (it was the first time I threw out beer). It may be the best place in town, but that is because it is the only place in town. Pros: its downtown in a nice building Cons: beer is terrible more

AWESOME PIZZA, awesome BEER! 11/22/2008

Black Horse has truly gourmet pizza and an awesome selection of beer. I would recommend this to anyone no matter where they're from. Reasonably priced, not too crowded. Great staff. Pros: food, beer, service, ambience Cons: parking more

Love It! 8/21/2007

I don't live in Clarksville, but a few times a year my wonderful husband and I make the drive up to Clarksville and visit The Black Horse Pub. The food is great! I highly recommend the pizzas. The Black Horse also offers a great variety of beers brewed right there at the restaurant, and they are all excellent. You can even buy the beer buy the gallon if you want to take some home with you. My husband and I always buy a couple of gallons. If you are not a beer drinker, they also offer great Irish Coffees. The atmosphere is great as well and the service is great too. Sometimes you may have to wait on a table, but that just goes to show you how wonderful they are. Good luck getting in St. Patrick's Day after noon, though. I highly recommend the Back Horse to everyone. The Black Horse is even great for families. They have a kids menu and the servers are all great with the little ones. Pros: Good Beer, Good Food, Good People Cons: Parking more

Yummy, definitely go here. 6/25/2007

Awesome food. We had the black bean hummus as an appetizer and husband had the rueben and I had the grilled chicken sandwich, yummy!!! Their microbrews are tasty too, my fav. is the vanilla cream ale. Would definitely recommend, great food at a good price. more

Is There Any Other Reason To Go To Clarksville? 3/7/2007

This place is fantastic! The food is great and the beer is better! The staff and sevice there are usually pretty good and it's great place chill. If you haven't tried it yet ,I suggest you head on down and find your new favourite pub. Pros: Great, food, beer, and atmosphere Cons: parking more

Amazing food and great atmosphere! 2/8/2007

This is by far my favorite restraunt in Clarksville, and though it is a bit out of the way from the base, it is worth the trip if you are looking for a great place to eat, drink, and just hang out! Pros: Awesome food, good atmosphere, wonderful staff Cons: parking is difficult on weekends, can get very busy, hard to find more

I Love Coal Miner's Stout! 11/15/2006

The Black Horse is an awesome pub in downtown Clarksville. The pizzas are delicious and they even have an option on the menu to create your own pizza. The pizzas are a little high, but well worth your money. The Black Horse's micro-brewery turns out some really good stuff in a variety of flavors. My personal favorite is the coal miner's stout. It's a smooth, deep, dark stout similar to Guinness. If you like Guinness then coal miner's stout is the beer is for you. The Black Horse has a nice family environment and is also a great place for friends and lovers to meet too. It's a great place to sit back have a few beers and chill, or enjoy a great meal. I advise you to try this place if you haven't already. Thanks. P.S. The only time I would recommend making reservations is on St. Patrick's Day. Pros: great beer and everything else Cons: parking more

A really fun hangout place. 3/5/2006

The decor in the Blackhorse is awesome. I really like the bar because it looks like something out of the old West. The service is normal to good and the food is tasty but not super expensive. I almost always get the filet mignon and have never been dissapointed. I wish side salads came with the entree but you can't have everything. Anyway - the side salad is just okay. Their baked potato's are big and buttery, their seasonal beers are very good. They have a seasonal nut brown ale right now which is excellent. I don't care much for the vanilla beer but I know it is very popular. Pros: Atmosphere, Good food, Brewery Cons: Normal service, Parking more

Great Pub 11/17/2005

Blackhorse has a turn of the century decor in a 150 year old brick building. It's nicely decorated to reflect it's heritage and a good break from the O'charleys and Ruby's. The waitresses are friendly and prompt. The food is superb and a good value as well. Finally, the micro-brewery on site pumps out some pretty good suds. Blackhorse is a great place to go with your family, or take your wife on a date, or meet some buddies to catch the game on the plasma screen. Pros: Food, Service, Beer and Decor more
