This is another one of those places that's been around Irvine just as long as I can remember. I remember having to use booster seats to sit in the chairs, and now I take my own children there when I get the chance.
The food is typical diner-style fare, with excellent appetizers and salads. The chili is well-loved, and their strombolis are just as good as I remember them. All of the sandwiches I've ever eaten there have been terrific. It's a great piece of nostalgia to drive down under the bridge and eat, afterward taking a walk along the dock and watching the river.
It would be nicer if Kentucky would do something to clean the river up, but it still is nice.
