With everything you need to worry about in the wedding process, the items that have to do with the bride are of the utmost importance. It is important that any vendor provide the brided to be with comfort and reliability during this process. Both of these are seemingly foreign concepts to Betsy's Bridal. They leave everything until the last minute and have tactics that almost force you to use them for alterations. To be fair, though, the last time I was in there I detected some sort of weird smell. I went to Betsy's only because they had an exact dress I wanted. I ordered the dress 6 months in advance as did my bridesmaids. When Betsy missed the delivery date by two weeks I was not all that worried... then another two weeks passed and she told me that it was not a problem. Totally unapologetic and without concern that my wedding was now only six weeks away... when the dresses were finally delivered, less than 3 weeks beofre the wedding they were all the wrong sizes. We wondered how this could happen.... the it was explained to me by someone in the industry:\r \r The scam is this, deliver the wrong size dresses, LATE and you will have no choice but to use her for her overpriced and HORRIBLE alterations. In my case, almos 33% of the price of the dress.\r \r Betsy's is a SCAM. Stay far, far away. Cons: Betsy almost ruined my wedding. more

WORST BRIDAL SHOP EVER! I had the hardest time even getting ahold of anyone here. Then the dress I wanted *that I was told would be there* was gone when I arrived for my appointment. Of course, they'd be happy to get another one for me to try, but there's a fee. I didn't end up using them, but a few of my bridesmaids did, and they all had to forgo their deposits and buy new,rush order dresses because Betsy's couldn't get them in on time. DO NOT USE BETSY'S'! First off I walked in with my mother in law and it smelled like garlic and cigarettes. The woman came out still chomping on her food. I asked her for a specific style of dress and she pointed to a wall with a hundred dresses hanging up. Expecting to find it myself. I asked her to point the specific one out to me. She still didn't help. Then insisted on telling me to put a down payment on the dress without even trying it on. Which they didn't even have available. There wasn't a single person in the store. This was the worst salon I have ever walked in too. You want to feel like a princess and to have the best customer service when shopping for the one gown you will have forever. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Pros: Example: best croissants in town Cons: rude and smells more

After searching all over Michigan for the perfect dress I came across Betsy's and I've been in good hands ever since. I tried on 20 dresses, they have a Great selection and Betsy helped with her honest opinion and I'm sure glad because I bought the dress that was right for me when I almost made the mistake of getting a dress that I would've regretted. She was helpful every step of the way with not only my dress but also my mother's and all of my bride's maids as well as giving us a fantastic deal compared to other shops we saved lots of $$$ and didn't sacrifice anything. Betsy's Bridal was not the worst experience I've had in my wedding dress quest, but they come close. It started when first went to Betsy's because they carried a dress I found in a magazine. They said they would hold it for me so I could try it on during my appointment the following week. I drove an hour and ten minutes for the woman (Faye) to tell me, ""Oh, I sold that dress. Maybe I can get another, but you have to pay $50"". After going on and on about the dress, I asked if I could try on some other dresses, seeing as I had already made the drive. The woman (Faye) was impatient when I didn't have an EXACT idea of what I wanted, and criticized my future mother-in-law what she made suggestions (""Don't confuse her!"") She was in my face for the first half of our visit, but vanished when another bride entered the store and left us to fumble with the dresses ourselves.\r On my second trip, after I'd called three times to assure I did not need an appointment, she criticized me for not making an appointment. Then I had to wait for 30 minutes to get into a dressing room and in front of a mirror to try on my dresses (I only had 3). When I finally got my turn, which I waited patiently for, she started rushing me and saying we'd have to move my podium over and let someone else get up next to me.\r This woman is pushy and rude. This would probably be a good store if it were not for her. Luckily, I chose a designer that is sold at numerous other stores in Michigan. I will not be returning to Betsy's Bridal, and I would not recommend them to anyone. more
