Babes is Roanoke is a total original and is awesome. Best fried chicken anywhere and if you don't like fried chicken, just get your fill on their biscuits which are amazing. Neat and unique feel with long tables and family style servings. I love it. more

Amazing Southern Cooking! 5/31/2006

I visited Dallas for the first time last weekend, and my friend took me to Babe's. *swoon* It definitely doesn't have a huge menu, but you get a ridiculous amount of delicious food....for an insanely low price. We picked the fried chicken as our meat dish, which was excellent--crispy, juicy, and most importantly, not greasy. And then we received unlimited sides...wonderful biscuits, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, and green beans. I only wish I lived by one! more

Great great food. Come very hungry because you are going to get a lot of food. Only two choices, chicken fried steak or chicken. I have not had the chicken fried steak, but I hear good things. The chicken is very good. The rolls, corn and potatoes are excellent as well. I always eat way too much when I go to Babe's. more

Family style restaurant 3/28/2006

Good home cooked type food served home style. Family oriented for sure. This is located close to where I live and they are always very very busy which tells you a lot about the quality of food served there. The chicken fried steaks are huge and the chicken is very very good. Lots of good ole vegetables cooked just right and served family style. more

Babe's is OK 8/16/2005

If you love good down home Southern cooking with a Southern atmosphere, Babe's may be your place to eat. If you're looking for a menu, forget it. The only choices are chicken fried steak or fried chicken with the fixins (that's side dishes for you Yankees). I imagine if you really love these two main dishes, you'd be in southern fried heaven. Myself? I like a little variety to my menu. more
