I recently wrote a bad review on B&S guns for not allowing me to pick up my guns I purchased from out-of-state that were delivered to them. I am counter nothing but rudeness. Until, Kimberly assisted me. What a great person! She single-handedly kept my business with B and S guns. She was not only apologetic, but she also included the paperwork for the FF L licensing for free.Way to go Kimberly! It's people like you that make customers return. Brent R more

I recently had a gun repaired at B&S. When I had taken the gun in, it was \r jamming . I dropped the gun off and was told it would take week. Two and a half \r weeks later, I returned to B&S and was told that it had not been repaired yet. I \r was then told that they would get right on it. The repair was finished three \r days later and I returned to the shop to get my gun. I was charged 123.00 \r dollars for a .22 rifle valued at around 200.00. The second time that I used the \r gun after B&S repaired it, it jammed again. I had put less than 75 rounds \r through the gun. I retuned to B&S and was told they don't guarantee their \r repairs once the gun leaves their shop (which makes no sense to me since I can't \r shoot it in the store, how am I supposed to know if it's fixed). I was also told \r the gun was dirty which prompted me to ask him how was I supposed to clean it \r since there is a live round still in it. The first person told me it would be \r 25.00 dollars to remove the live round. more

He started yelling at me to not to grab the gun from him even \r though he had handed it across the counter to me to which I did not reply. He \r then proceeded to yell at me to get out of his store (even though I was already \r half way to the door at this point) and to never come back to which I responded \r ""No problem"". Then from somewhere in the back, another employee joined in to \r yell at me as well. This entire time I was talking to their gunsmiths, I never \r raised my voice and was just trying to leave the store when it was obvious that \r they were not going to stand behind their work. \r \r (The kicker to the whole thing was that I had my 8 yr daughter with me and was \r not looking for a confrontation with them, simply trying to walk out of their \r store while they were being confrontational with me.) poor customer 12/31/2013

jerry bought 2 guns from me on 12/21 (sat, we are closed), 12/26 he emails asking for shipment. Still had not received his FFL info for shipment. (we are closed 12/26). 12/27 i respond telling him his order will ship as soon as i get FFL info. Mind you he is a dealer and knows the drill on transfers. He gets all irate and demands a refund. I say no and say send me your FFL info and your stuff will ship same day. Still refuses. 12/30 ask again for FFL info and he again refuses to provide any information and demands refund. You would think as a gun store operator he would know protocol on what info dealers need to ship items. Waste of time customer. more

Shopped at B and S Guns Friday they had what i wanted for the right price and no one else in Dallas had it. I was in and out with background check in less then 30 min. And imo of over charging I do not think selling something that a customers can live without and just wants because they may outlaw them for a higher price is wrong look at it this way if they do how much will it cost that gun shop in lost sales in future sales . So i say its supply and demand as long as it somthing we can all live without just my 2 cents. more

B&S Guns is a despicable place and I highly urge anyone interested in finding a firearm to go to the several hundred other gun dealers in the area. I have been in a couple of times and the staff was rude, but that in itself was not enough of a reason to spend time today to write a review. After all, everyone has different personalities, and my thought at the time was maybe I was just expecting too much from a bunch hicks that probably did not know any better. But in the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting the geniuses at B&S Guns decided they would make a quick dollar off the tragedy. Shortly after the shooting they raised their prices 100% on all tactical firearms. An example of this was the Smith & Wesson M&P15OR which usually retails for $1069 was raised to just under $2000. Now I am all for capitalism, but there are just some things that are just wrong. Did they sell the gun to some poor unsuspecting shmuck and make their quick buck? I am sure they did, but they lost my business. I will never step foot in the place again and I hope anyone reading this does the same. This is a terrible business and a group of people who should find another line of work. I can only hope that enough people read this and it makes a difference. And for those employees of B&S Guns that logon from time to time and leave positive feedback? Really? I don’t think we are fooled. more

I guess i am the few who have time to write a good review. \r \r B&S has been nothing but great to me, everytime I come in, they are so helpful and take time to talk with me, even if I'm not buying anything. \r \r I'm just guessing but if you take into consideration, these reviews to customer ratio, it is probably very small amount of people who have problems. \r \r I've been shopping with them for years, Steve Melton just doesn't put up with bullsh*t, he has had to tell me problems with my gun that I didn't want to hear, but he is just be honest. Maybe you guys don't have thick enough skin. \r \r B&S is sucessfull for a reason! I recommend it!!! more

I have been doing business with these people for years and today I was trying to get information from them about a transfer and they would not help. The owner of B and S told me that I did not buy the gun from him and I should go to the person I bought it from, and then hung up. They believe there gods gift to the gun world and everyone else sucks. The attitude here is horrible. Your wrong, their right. Interested in gun, got a price on the model I was interested in, VERY HIGH, actually the highest I found anywhere even though there we site states \r \r "* We have the BEST prices on Handguns; Glocks, Sig Arms, Berettas, Kel-Tecs, and MORE!"\r \r Not only where they higher than everyone else there are higher than MSRP. When I ask about meeting the price of another local gun reseller I got tons of attitudes, told they suck, go ahead and buy from those people, I am an idiot basically, and how they are so much better. I was shocked that they would talk to a perspective customer that way, even if I got the gun elsewhere I might have been a possible future customer for other things but I guess they don?t ca more

Steve Melton will screw you, take the vasiline. 11/19/2011

I took a $2000 Nightforce Scope here to be mounted. I have spent $1000's of dollars with this store. When they installed it they cranked the screws so tight they cracked the tube and broke both of the mounts. I contacted the manufacturer and they confirmed the cause of the crack. I met with the owner, Steve Melton and he said it was not their problem, I brought them a cheap scope and the tube was out-of-round. He walked off while I calmly tried to discuss the problem. The people who work there are super nice, but the true measure of a business is when something goes wrong. It is only a matter of time before you get screwed dealing with Steve Melton - be warned. more

Cannot Recommend 9/16/2011

B&S has lost my business. I've shopped there off-and-on. They're knowledgable and freindly enough. Their prices on ammunition are very high, but I appreciate dealing with professionals. However, earlier this yearI took in an older semi-automatic shotgun that was having a problem cycling the next shell. I thoroghly described the problem to them, and they said the could fix it. They called and said that the shotgun was fixed, and I picked up the gun and happily paid them their fee. A month or so later, I get a chance to shoot the gun, and it exhibits the exact same problem from the very first shell. Out of frustration, I broke the gun down completely. It was as if they hadn't even cleaned it, let alone check for a problem. It turns out that it was a cloged gas port. I don't mean dirty. I mean completely clogged. Now, this is certainly something that I could have done myself, but it's an older gun, and I want a gunsmith to look at it. Clearly, their gunsmith did not. In response to 500mag_nut, I am neither a moron nor clueless. I am just a regular guy that expects someone to do what they say they will do. In my case, B&S did NOT do what they said they would do. They took payment for services that they did not render. That is dishonest. And, I don't do business with dishonest people. more

Ok.........for all of you who choose to write bad reviews about B&S, here are some things you need to know, to prevent from being a moron all your life, it appears that the negative posters are clueless.................. you know NOTHING about guns, therefore you have no business dealing with REAL professionals, you realize there is over 60 years experience combined with only 4 employee's there?????? I have seen other employee's there that can tell you anything about firearms as well, and as for the Gunsmith, well you best think again, he has more experience than ANY gunsmith in Texas. So I say............... WAKE UP 167rgd!!!!................................ don't be stupid all your life, If you want the best service anywhere, you need to go to B&S, Bass Pro, Cabela's are NOT gun stores, or did you doubting thomas's even know that? more

No Thanks 4/22/2011

I have a shotgun that needed repair, so i looked through the local gunsmiths and decided to give B&S guns a shot. The problem is with me magazine tube and the follower. The shotgun i own was designed to hold 7 shells in the tube, but the follower keeps jamming when i load the 7th shell every time. The follower also has the tendency to jam in the outmost position when there are no shells loaded at all.....to the point where fingers and many other things are unable to loosen it up. Took the gun there and picked it up soon after. When i got the gun home and loaded it.......nothing was different. I took the gun back up there and dropped it off again with a more detailed explaination of the problem. After recieving another call that it was fixed i picked it up again...got home and once again...nothing was different. I took it back and finally talked to the gunsmith in person. He explained that he loaded 6 shells into it and it performed with no problem. Once i told him that it holds 7 shells he replied that it does not hold 7. I know a fare share about fire arms, especially enough to know my own gun which was the second exact model i have owned. After explaining this i was told something along the lines of ""well you should only load 6 into it now"". I know what im talking about, but i wasnt treated that way at all. JUST LOAD 6 SHELLS INTO IT BECAUSE OF A PROBLEM THAT I HAD ALREADY PAID TO BE FIXED!?!?!?! That defeats the purpouse of why i was there to begin with. He also showed me how to un-jam the follower using a piece of metal, but when he did this it jammed the follower in the outmost position. He disappeared with the gun for about 10 minutes and brought it back to me and handed it to me. So appearently i asked them to fix a gun with obviouse problems several times, which was never done and i was still charged for it from the first pick up. What a waste of time, money, and gas. I learned absolutely nothing because any problems and diagnoses that were stated by the buisness are things i already knew of. I wanted to repair done, and i payed for it, but in return i got my firearm back in the same condition that it was when i first walked it in the door. Going there 3 times for one gun is lame enough, but getting it back with nothing fixed and my pockets and tank a little more empty was the straw that broke the cammels back. I never write online reviews, but i made an acception for this place. I dont know if they are used to customers who know little to nothing about guns, but they sure acted that way to me, and i took notice from the begining. It matches well...B&S will BS you. more

I sent B&S an email in request of a price confirmation, results forthwith in banter. them We are sold out, sold SIX AT $1900.. us Those weapons are first generation and nearly betas, in the gun business we observe and report deficiencies back to the manufacturer. Really though, why would you openly admit to price gouging? Where is the respect? I don't think you are ill intentioned, merely ambivalent. Since we are foregoing extending any semblance of professional conduct, I can only speculate as to the pleasure your base receives while you joyfully inform a first time purchaser of the patent resolve required to navigate the ocean of tedium we call rma. The last weapon I ever sent back to the factory for warranty work was an m60e4 at 2nd plt. weapons squad c co.1st/327th Inf. in the 101st airborne. Sir, typing in high caps to make a point this day and age, id est in the post usenet newsgroup world, is representative of a subculture often overlooked by people of real concern, exempli gratia, your managers fielding use of his/her ffl, but NOT by the liberal organization issuing the privileges you so dearly and obviously value. ?? I have been shopping was B&S for years, they have been nothing but GOOD people. They always have the answers and if they don't know then they go beyond to find it for me. They have a great selection, actually a huge selection to choose from, and anytime its not in stock they order it for me and its there the next day. Ok so everyone is bad mouthing STEVE, the gunsmith/owner, yes he has a strong personality, yes he is very honest, the man is old school, kind of like R. Lee Ermey, you love to hate. He is trying to help you, but it may come out wrong, he means no harm. GIve the guy a chance, and he can fix pretty much all guns, best gunsmith a round. I love this place!? more
