B & S Guns

My cousin loves thier shop, but I have never been a big fan. I stopped in about 2 wks ago just looking. I had not stepped foot in about 4 yrs because they were always very rude( to certain people). I noticed it after several times being in the store. Well...anyways...I was looking a couple of weeks ago and I found something, put it in lay-a-way, got it out. Only a couple of people still didn't sit well with me. The overall experience was average. Would not recommend the to people, but I wouldn't discourage them either, for whatever that is worth! more

after taking my gun in to the shop to see if they could help, the owner seemed determined to drive me out their store. he told me ""i wouldnt work on that piece of s**t gun with a 10 foot pole. when you buy cheap stuff off the internet, you get what you deserve."" he then proceeded to tell me that he doubted the ""garage"" manufacturer probably wouldnt help me and good luck. if you want to be treated with respect, go somewhere else. This place will never see a dime of my money. best part is, the manufacturer of the gun told me to ship it back to them, and THEY'D fix it FOR me and ship it back. problem solved. Sales guy are kind of high and mighty if you don't know what you are looking for. The weapon I got here has been great and the staff was really no help. Make sure you know what you want when you go in. The prices are fair and the selection is ok. more

I've purchased multiple guns, after countless visits. They're always friendly and take the time to answer my questions, whether I'm 'just browsing' or I'm laying green on the table. I've read most of the reviews on this site and haven't found any of the claimed downfalls with one exception. They have one employee that I avoid. I believe him to be arrogant and very rude. I don't expect he will be there long. If you find yourself in a position where you don't like who you're speaking with, ask to see someone else. I've dealt with everyone in this store at one time or another, and they have ALL been great, save for that one guy. But go in and make your own assessment. I've had nothing but good experiences there, and will continue to shop there. They recognize me when I walk in and shoot the breeze with me, which in my book is EXCELLENT customer service. Especially in the gun store world. Let's face it.... a lot of these places have no personality. Also you can beat that lifetime warranty with their gunsmiths! Pros: Great gun prices. Bought another rifle from this store. Will helped me refine my use and need. I am highly satisfied with the result of the interaction with all the people in the store. Even beat Bass Pros price by $80 and was able to put the gun in layaway...I do not understand some of the ""complaints"" by others about this store...when you ask a question you get a direct , honest opinion. NEVER has a problem with any gun purchased from this store!!! NEVER...they have fixed guns I have had for years, they are very ,very good at what they do! Been in this store multiple times. Bought several guns from these folks and had guns repaired by their gunsmiths. Both New and used guns I've purchased from this store have been fairly priced and the terms were acceptable. Several guns were put on layaway because they were unusual or a ""deal"" I didn't want to let go. No paperwork was lost and I simply followed the terms of the sale that were stated in the beginning. I have NEVER observed ""yelling or shouting"" by any of the employees of the store on countless stops in this store. The people have always been good to me and my children. I emailed to ask about layaway for a friend who wants to buy a gun before Christmas and this is the email I got back from them. ""30 days at most, 25% down........... If you back out you lose all moneys & all trades ........ Nothing a deal at all, unless you man enough to buy something ! Talk is cheap......."" I have been in there before and they were a little rude but this response was to much. I am NEVER going in there again and will be making business cards to hand out from my booth at all the local gun shows telling people to avoid them at all cost!! WOW..that's all I can say, this place should be out of business. I'm 50 years old and former Military and the ""partners"" of this store actually YELLED at me for asking simple questions about models of guns. I was there to buy right there and then but these jerks actually had the nerve to raise their voice at me for absolutely NO reason. Pros: None whatsoever... This is the worst store I have ever been to. They lie about everything. They tell you want you want to hear on the phone, to get you in the store, then deny even talking with you when you get there. I know several people that have all had the same experience. They are the most expensive place around, on everything. They are also, from what I have heard from several sources, one the problems with ammo availablity in the area. I have been told that they buy ammo off the docs, from places like wal-mart and then mark it up 2 or 3 times and resell it in their store. I really wish this place would go out of buisness. Steve which I believe is the S in B&S is Very unprofessional and lies to what is wants you to believe that he is right. He is loud and hot head and you can not reason with him over him yelling. I had bought two firearms before from B&S and we had a disagreement about a gun and a box that was missing that sent to B&S. They did find the box after several calls from me and the company that sent it. He told me that I am not in his system and I never have bought anything from him. Well Last December I bought a 700 ADL and my wife just three months ago bought a sun-nose S&W. I was told never to come to his store again. Trust me I would never buy again from them I wonder how the Feds would feel agout his records keeping if he can not find me or my wife in their system?? Cons: Bad customer service and Liars more

This place is a joke. You are treated like a child who is begging for candy from an angry dad! I don't get it, i walk in there with good hard earned cash, and im told I don't know what im talking about and that I should just buy what im told or find another store! Well I don't mind finding another store at all. Bad form people, treat your customers better, and for god sakes, don't just interrupt me and start talking to someone else! Purchased 1st Glock in May. I'm a newbie and was a little apprehensive, but the sales guy treated me with respect; no arrogance and answered all my stupid questions without making me feel like an idiot. I went into to b&s and had a great experence, as a women I wasn't sure what I really needed but they helped me find the type of gun i needed. Plus they had pink guns and cases, right up my ally. recommend to all. more

I have to say I agree with the majority of recent posters here. I went in to inquire about a trade plus cash of my gun for a new one. First off they offered me $100 less than the other 2 places I had been. While there, I wanted to buy a box of .380 ammo. They were out, which is not unusual recently, so I left and drove out to Ammo Depot in Caddo Mills. I liked what they offered much better, but they were out of the weapon I wanted. No problem, they will call when they receive more. I also bought one box of the ammo I could not find at B & S. I went to the range the next day and shot the ammo I had purchased, so dropped back by B and S again when I was by there. They now had the ammo I was originally looking for back in. $$ 99.99 a BOX! FOR THE VERY SAME LOAD I PAID $24.99 AT Ammo Depot. I gently, (this IS a gun store) told the owner I would never darken their doorway again! Ammo Depot is only 20 minutes east of Garland, and very well worth the drive! Pros: Knowledgable salespeople Cons: price gouging and arrogant more

I was very displeased. I was refferred there because as an armored truck driver, this is one of the few places that considers us Law Enforcement. They only give discounts on Glocks, fair enough. I bought a Springfield elsewhere. They are not very close to my house, so I called to get ammo quotes. Seemed fair, so last Sunday my wife and I go there. Decided to look around while there. I asked if they had night sights available, the guy asks for what? I told him a Springfield XDm. He wrinkles his nose and says "" Noone will install those for you except Springfield as they have to be drilled out then they rust. We don't touch Croatian guns."" OK whatever, wasn't looking to buy that day anyhow. Go to the ammo side and the ammo is literally double what I was quoted. I ask a salesman (who has always been very polite and helpful, for the record) if they quoted me LEO pricing over the phone or something and you can see HIS astonishment as he looks at the pricing. Another guy proceeds to inform me they have been ""jacking up prices all morning because Obama passed a law that prohibits any import of ammo so that more American jobs will be created, so this is it."" I was so appalled I had to just walk out without even saying anything about how sorry it is to price gouge at any given whim. They had quoted me $32 a 25 box of one type of ammo, raised it to $50. $40 a 50 box for another kind, raised to $70! I do not support the actions of this store. And for the record, noone else turns down Springfield sights. Their gunsmith simply doesn't know how to do his job apparently. Pros: Salesmen are friendly. At least the one I have dealt with both times in store. Cons: Uneducated gunsmith = DANGER price gouging = higher prices for all forever. more

I had some gunsmith work done. The job was not completed. I went back twice in an attempt to resolve this issue. They were defensive, agressive and basically told me that I didn't know what I was talking about. The work (or lack of work) was confirmed by another gunsmith. Pros: Nice selection of firearms, some knowledgeable staff Cons: Very poor customer service, not interested in customer satisfaction. more

I have bought 3 weapons from them and never had a problem with bad service or anything. There are 3 salesmen in the store at all times they are a very popular store with repeat customers. The other people just are needing to complain about something. more

To begin with, they have a nice variety of Guns and accesories. Thir prices are O.K on some things (some are not), but they usually have a decent special going on on select items. I found that the environment was not very welcoming. I walked away feeling like I was someone who visited a used car dealership with bad credit. Furthermore, I aquired a used rifle there that looked decent on the outside, but when I broke it down for cleaning, I found that it had a couple of damaged parts in it. It still shot OK, but the price on it was what you would expect to pay for a used gun in great condition. I would be extra cautious if I was going to purchase a used gun there. I would go there again to purchase accesories, but I would shop elsewhere to purchase a firearm or ammo. more

Customer service was terrible!!! The gentleman with glasses and a mustache didn't seem interested in making a sell. When asked a question about a gun, he would walk away or talk to customers as if they were ignorant. My brother talked to him at a gun show and canceled his purchase. I will drive 50 miles and pay more before I step in their store again. more
