I love Maidas Touch beauty salon. Maida the owner has 25 years of experience in coloring, cutting, blow drying, etc. I had the brazilian straitening done and I am extremely happy. My hair looks so shinny and healthy. Maidas Touch beauty salon is clean and updated. I love Maidas energy and most importantly her honesty and her prices are very affordable. BRAVO!!! more

DD and I went to Maida's Touch. DD tried doing her own highlights at home and the result was so bad she wanted to stay home from school! So I made an emergency appt at Maida's because our regular guy at a different salon wasn't available that day. I saw reviews of MT's online and they were good. But whoever posted those reviews?probably her friends and family?must have been dipping heavily into crack. First thing we noticed when we went in ? incredibly tasteless and hideous statue/table (glass table resting on boobs of statue, statue looks like blowsy saloon?not salon?girl). Second thing: Maida (owner) was talking on phone, she was the receptionist and her own hair looked like crap, she continued to negotiate her lease for five minutes after we got there and kept looking at us and winking like we were sympathizing with her, instead of putting party on hold and getting us to a stylist. Okay. We should have walked out of there right then. But we were desperate and she did get good reviews online. Then we tell her exactly what we want, and she does the complete opposite. I go up at one point and remind the stylist what we asked for, she goes over to the owner and tells her what I said, the owner says something in Russian or whatever to the stylist (probably cussing me out and telling the stylist to ignore me), and then ? DD seems to LIKE her hair even though I hate it. Blond chunks in the dark, dark patches, gawd ? so I pay (after the owner clearly looks me up and down and I can see her calculating what she thinks I can afford!), and I tip, because DD says she likes it. We get in the car, we?re driving away, and DD says she hates it. The downside of being nice. So we go back to our regular guy the next day and he fixes it beautifully. Beware . . . ok so I have been going there for a while the 1st cut i thought was cute even though it was really short and i was trying to grow my hair out. she continued to give me the same cut every time with out asking what I wanted . Well the last time I went in I said leave the length well she left the left it but only a thin part of the length that looks like a mullet. When i look in the mirror I get upset because my hair was so full and thick before the cut now it looks horrible. I will say she does a great job at coloring your hair just don't go there for a haircut unless you want to beshort hair . she does great short cuts but cdont go there if you want to keep long hair! . great color job though.:} more

I have been going to Maida for about 5 years. Every time that I have been there I get good results. I have naturally curly hair that can be hard to work with, but Maida not only cuts my hair great every time, but she is the best hair colorist. I tell her what color i'm thinking of doing my hair, but leave it to her to "work her magic", and she has never disappointed me. About a year ago, I had just had my hair done at Maida's and went out that night to our company Christmas party and I kid you not, the woman who had just finished doing her comedy routine, came up to me and told me she noticed my hair color while she was on stage and had to ask my what color was it. I told her about Maida but also told her that there isn't a actual color name, but that Maida knows how to work her majic everytime to my satisfation. I have been going here for a few years now. I had my hair colored the first time I went and was very impressed. Maida herself did a great job. She was so kind to do my hair for my wedding day and I've been going back for highlights ever since. I don't normally get a haircut here, maybe a trim, but I love the coloring. Once when I was pregnant and feeling like I was going to pass out they fed me and let me cool off for awhile. It was so nice! more

I've been going to Maida's Touch since 1995 (when I got my first "Rachel" haircut) and have been nothing but happy everytime I've gone in. The owner, Maida, is nothing short of genius, and really knows hair. She's always got great ideas about what to do different with my hair, to keep my look fresh and updated. The salon is clean and spacious, and if you want a good political discussion or just need to talk about your love life, everyone here is friendly and happy to lend an ear. The price is fair, and the results are worth the time and money. This salon gets really crowded sometimes, so be prepared for a color and cut to take 2-3 hours. Lori is the best manicurist there. I highly recommend her. If I was doing this rating on just her it would all be "highly recommend". She does a wonderful job and beautiful, detailed art. more

I spent a year growing my hair out after a bad cut, only to go to this salon and have all my hair hacked off at this place. The reason why I went in the first place was because it was rated best in Fresno by the Fresno Bee. The woman who did my hair didn't even ask me what I wanted before she stared cutting it. The end result was the exact same style as before!!! I am extremely angry!!! But this salon does do a mani/peti package for $25. more
