SHADY, WATCH OUT, DO NOT DO BUSINESS W THEM!! 7/27/2011

Wow, my apartment complex switched to their property ""management"" the last month of my lease (also, I'm shocked there are not more reviews - this place should be run out of business) They gave me a partial reimbursement of my security deposit (they weren't going to give me *anything* until I contacted the Better Business Bureau.) I waited a few weeks to deposit the partial amount (although the law in CA is that landlords have 21 business days to return the security deposit, after that they MUST do a full refund - it's the law.) and their check BOUNCED! how unprofessional!!! So, I ended up going to small claims court and winning the security dep + court fees - have yet to see the money, so I will have to go to the next step. Total lack of unprofessionalsm. Gaylynn Heitzig (the owner) yelled at me on Main street, Visalia - when I told her she owed my the full amount. Um, the law is the law - I didn't make it. If you don't have the money to give the security deposit back in the first 21 business days, you will have to pay the full amount. Also, when I was checking out of the apartment, it took me 2 TIMES (their walk-in inspection person couldn't meet me, after I planned to meet them), and I had already moved to another town!! TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT do business with the asset group. more

The Asset Group is completely unprofessional and does not adhere to the terms of their own contracts/lease agreements. If you try to talk to them on the phone and they disagree with you, they will just hang up on you. Extremely immature and unprofessional staff. Understand what you are signing so that you know what your rights are and be prepared for them to make new terms on your lease after you sign it. Moved into a house with mold throughout the kitchen and a broken, moldy, leaking dishwasher; also both bathrooms were unusable including broken showers, faucets, and toilets. Sadly they think simply taking a picture of the rooms suffices for a walk though inspection. Be prepared, make and keep copies of everything they give you, they do shady business.
