We have been dining at Antonio's at the Kercheval and the former Mack location for years. The food is hand crafted and excellent, the prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. Andy makes the bar experience neighborhood cozy . more

Dear customer!I m not the owner of antonio's in the park neither dirty dog jazz caffe's owner. I m the WAITER of Antonio's in the park..yes the guy that waited on you and your probably ex boyfriend that I saw leaving you that night because disgusted of your attitude...what you're writing here is not true,,,please tell that you wanted the dinner off,,is what you asked to me that night,,dont you remember???And you say I DID NOTHING???what you expect the waiter to do???i called the manager to talk to you and he was very gentle and polite with you...dont you remember your boyfried telling you that what you were saying wasnt right???Please mention that you didnt want to pay at all and you left without tip me anything...(Just to let you know your bill was around 50 dollars and the waiters are payed 2.62 per hour)oh yeah,,,i do remember everything,believe it or not! And just to let you know, i'm albanian and I lived in Italy for 9 years,and with all respect i think I know better that you italian food,veal or whatever you want...you can come and talk to me in italian if you would like to..and talk about food too...Everybody that comes at Antonios know me.. You think you are a food critic and I respect if some people dont like the food,,I believe we live in a free country so everyone can exprime its opinion and honestly I ve always reported and always taking care of the bill,but your attitude was terrible!!! What you basically doing is lying and just ruining people's business...restaurant owners are struggling in these times giving free food and receiving this kind of reviews,and with them all the people working there. Be honest with your self first... I WILL TELL YOU WHAT: the food at antonio's is delicious and is very very similar to the food i used to eat in italy,,,i m not saying this because i work there,,i wouldnt care for this review if it wasnt true... Probably i will get fired if the owner knows that i m writing this,,but at least i said the things how they are! more

Dinners ranged from $15-$25. Pros: Pros: Eager (though not too experienced) service. Cons: Cons: Portions inconsistent with prices. more

The plate came out with what looked like a bowl (read- swamp) of Kraft macaroni and cheese sauce with a few pieces of ultra thin veal meat (resembling cheap chopped ham lunch meat) hidden way below the sauce. I told the waiter immediately after he came to the table to see how we liked the food, and he did nothing! The sauce should have enhanced the dish, not completely cover it and the rest of the plate. When I finally saw the manager, I brought up the problem I had with the food. He made no apology nor offered to somehow resolve the problem. Instead, he said, ""that's how my customer's like it."" ""So you're customers dictate how you prepare your menu items?"" I replied. He said, ""yes."" ""Then, why do you not value my opinion as your customer when I am completely unsatisfied with the quality of the meal?"" I asked. He answered, ""You don't know what the hell you are talking about, and, obviously have only eaten cheap veal."" I told him that there was way too much sauce and the meat was way too thin-not even worth being the most expensive item on the menu. He insulted me and the food that I have eaten, assuming I only eat cheap, poor quality meat! He went on to say, ""you should have told the waiter less sauce if you didn't want that much sauce!"" How was I to know that the veal plate would be covered in the equivalent of a bowl of sauce? The manager is very rude and infantile; he took advantage of the fact that no other customers were around at that time and was really mean to me. He even said, ""I know there aren't a lot of customers here tonight, but we're usually really busy. It's just because it's so nice outside."" Had other customers been around (assuming people still eat there), would he still talk to me this way? He has no customer service skills at all. Before leaving, I told him I would never come back to eat there again, and he said, ""To be honest with you, I hope you don't come back here."" Never an apology, compromise, or an offer to fix the problem! Cons: VERY POOR SERVICE AND SUB-STANDARD QUALITY more

The manager is very rude. I described the problem I had with the food, and the guy made no accomodations for me. He said, ""you should have told the waiter less sauce if you didn't want that much sauce!"" How was I to know that the veal would be covered in the equivalent of a bowl of sauce!!! At the end, the owner even said, ""If you knew what the hell you were talking about... To be honest with you, I hope you don't come back here."" Cons: VERY POOR SERVICE AND POOR QUALITY more

Antonio's Pollo d'Umbria is my favorite dish in any Detroit area Restaurant! Other dishes are good. Unfortunately I can't recommend the soups. They have a great value card for repeat diners. Pros: Food, Ambience, Value more
