Ali is masterful with the brows! I went, for the first time, yesterday, to have my brows shaped and waxed. After hunting high and low, nearly giving up, I've found my girl. She was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to, and asked me VERY specifically wanted I wanted my eyebrow shape to be. She said she makes it a practice to take off less and show you the progress, so if you'd like more removed, no problem. That was refreshing after the many places I've gone to in the past that just rip it all off and leave you with nothing.The office is really nice, too. My eyebrows have never looked so good. I will be going back. What a find! more

I have had problems with my skin for years, but never found anywhere that really helped. I am from London and have had easthatricians in both London and Paris, but nothing compares to Alexandra's knowlege and understanding of skin. I have been out here for a year and was lucky enough to find Alie. She genuinly cares about your skin and makes you care about it too. I was never using the right products and would always attack my own skin if I have a brake out. She teaches you how to love and look after your skin properly and to trust her to deal with any problems. My skin is incredible as a result. The service is that of a top salon from anywhere in the world, given in a casual and comfortable space in chilled out Venice. I had a first facial with Ali a few weeks ago and I'm going back again soon! I'm young and in the in the prime of my life... but my skin was not keeping up to speed! After just 1 treatment, I could see a huge difference in my skin, ranging from reduction of old scars to the current condition to the smooth/softness of the face... altho I'm young, its been a while since I was carded, and immediately following the treatment that has happened constantly with people remarking that I have such a young looking face... wow, what a change in an hr facial! Pros: great results, great overall experience Cons: slightly pricey and she's busy... but totally worth it! more

I'm so grateful that I found her. When I moved from NY to LA my skin changed and I didn't know what to do with it. After a year of going through new products in the hopes of finding something to stabalize my flaky/oily/clogged/sensitive skin I decided it was time for help, and made an appointment with Ali based on the reviews here. I've been getting regular facials now for a few months and using a very simple regime of the products she offers (but doesn't push), and the difference has been amazing. I don't worry about my skin anymore! But that's just part of why I look forward to my appointments with Ali. She's such a warm and sincere person, I instantly feel relaxed and welcome when I get to her cozy studio. The facial is thorough and gentle and I'm usually asleep by the end. I also started getting eyebrow and bikini waxes, and she does a wonderful job on those too. I can't recommend Ali highly enough. more

First of all, I have to thank Ali's dedicated clients and City Search for being able to find her. I have been a waxing client of Ali's since November 2006 and hands down she is the best in town!!! Her Brazilian (stripless) waxes are less painful than others I've had, and I love the lavender wax she uses. I was recently in getting waxed and before I left Ali wanted to take a look at my eyebrows. Over the past few months I had been having a serious issue with my skin and as she was cleaning up my eyebrows, she noticed that my skin was extremely congested. She insisted I return Saturday afternoon so that she could give my face ""a good cleaning"". I had already had about 3 facials (from an Esthetician I had been seeing) prior to Ali seeing my skin and NONE of them were successful in improving or clearing up my issue. I had about 2 hours of Ali's undivided attention on my skin and in just one week & 2 days, my skin has cleared up 90%. Pros: Her space is very peaceful and she is gentle, yet through. No pressure to purchase products. Cons: No cons really. The area is great! more

I've been going to Alexandra for about a year now for facials, waxing and products, and she is the best around. She's got a cozy little studio which is truly a haven for beauty. I get so many complements on how great my skin looks, and as much as I want to pretend it's all me, I have to give credit where credit is deserved. I've referred so many people to her and everyone has raved. She is a must go to, plus she's super fun and on Abbot Kinney Blvd, where you can go for a stroll afterwards and eat some yummy soup at Lilly's. Pros: great skills, great personality, great location, easy to get appointment if you plan ahead a little. Cons: Parking can be a little difficult since it is Abbott Kinney Blvd, but it's free, so allow yourself a little time to find a spot. more

I have been to Alexandra for several different treatments, and have been thrilled with every single one of them. One of the best elements of her service is the comfort level she has immediately with her clients. She uses a type of wax for her waxing treatments that I have not have with other estheticians before, and the results are the best I've ever had, especially with my bikini waxing. It is less painful, and I find I have all-around fewer problems with hair regrowth (ingrown hairs, irritation, etc.) with her methods. It is also less painful because you are RELAXED in her space, which eases any tension about whatever might be going on. Pros: Comfort level, wonderful location and room, knowledgeable and skilled esthetician, superior methods. Cons: Parking can be difficult depending on time of day, but usually you can find street parking off of the main street (Abbott Kinney). more

I have been going to Ali for almost a year now and I try and make it once a month. She is so relaxed and warm. When you walk in to her room a sense of ahhh comes over you. I have fallen asleep many times, which is a great sign of someone who knows what they are doing. My skin also has never looked better, its clean and my pores are getting smaller and smaller from using her products. I have always had large pores around my nose and each time I go back to see her I have less and less brakeouts. I get waxing treatments and glycolic facials - they are very reasonably priced and expertly executed. Ali knows her stuff and she's fun and friendly too, no snobbery here. I have had so many facials before but never one like this. Alexandra's was by far the best. From the minute I walked in I was put at ease by the beautiful location and her easy going demeanor. She was professional without being stuffy and extremely knowledgeable. Normally I am very cautious about whom I go to for my facials, but after a few minutes of being under her care my fears were allayed. When she was done my face felt wonderfully clean and had a glow about it that I had not seen before. The best part about the whole experience; my face was not a swollen, sore mess when she was done. I have had A LOT of facials in my life, but NONE - really - have ever been as thorough as Ali's. I am pregnant w/ hormonal skin that breaks out completely at random. I went to see Ali and was so excited to have found an aesthetician who doesn't cut any corners, really knows skin care, and best of all doesn't make you feel like a leper. She takes her time and really wants to see dramatic results. I have sent a few people to her and systematically seen metamorphoses take place. The space is very breezy, relaxing, very clean, and comfy (not medicinal at all) and you can count on having some great conversation. Check her out! more
