Advantage One Escrow

My credit union uses Advantage One for their escrow work on purchases and re-fi''s. Everyone I dealt with, the notary, the escrow officer and even the receptionist was helpful, professional and on top of the issues regarding my transaction. They worked with me to mitigate potential duplicate impounds resulting mostly from the timing of my transaction. Having a good team makes a huge difference in the hassle factor of a real estate transaction! I worked with Tina Parsons. She always took my calls and returned my emails promptly. more

She is the most knowledgeable short sale contact I have ever met. She is AMAZING and aggressive which is what it takes to deal with short sale lenders. As far as escrow knowledge and etiquette she is also top notch. I very strongly recommend her to use on any escrow!! more

Avoid her at all costs. She starts off being nice but if she doesn't understand the situation or believes it's something else, she will kill your deal. She is the type that has to have her way or it wont happen. Instead of helping you work together to get the deal done she sit on it until she gets it done her way. Asking for a HUD and having a number changed on the HUD is like breaking into Fort Knox. Don'risk losing money on deals that you have worked on for months to lose it on the 11th hour because the escrow officer has to have it her way or the highway. more

Stephanie Tonnessen at Advantage One is one of the best escrow officers I have worked with and I have been in the business for over 20 years. She does what ever it takes to ensure that your transaction closes on time and with as little confusion as possible. If a problem arises she handles it as a professional, and with her contacts and experience problems are no problem. Definately recommend her!!!! more

I work for a mortgage broker, and we had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Stephanie Tonnessen at a bad time. We asked Stephanie right before closing if she would send us the HUD settlement statement for review, and it was as if we asked her to sacrifice her child. Not only did she bite my head off, she requested to speak with my supervisor, cussed him out, cussed out my supervisor's boss, and maintained nasty communication with us during the rest of the closing process. She accused me of not making enough money to care about our borrower and belittled me on the phone, working herself up into a rage that ended with her saying, ""I have no more time to waste on this file today"" and hanging up on me. We ended up missing the signing by a couple days because she would not work peacefully with our company. I understand getting frustrated, but she let it come between her and her duties, and it was the buyer who paid the price. more

I went to the escrow company to open escrow, and the papers that I had to sign were put in a closed envelope. I was going to open the envelope when the escrow officer told me that she doesn't have the time for me and that I have to read the papers on my own, sign them and send them back. more

Buying a my first home was stressful - but Advantage One Escrow really made the entire process smooth and simple! They were professional yet compassionate, even when I was a little stressed!
