Worst dental experience I have ever had… by far!\r
Let me preface by saying my wedding was set to take place 5 days after the “basic scheduled cleaning” that I had booked. Decided to make an appointment here based on my in-network insurance coverage and vicinity to my home. Started out slow. Showed up to my appointment 15 minutes early. It was around lunch so the door was locked and I had to wait in my car for 15 more minutes until they opened the front door at 1:00pm. No big deal, it was me who was early... I walked in and there was no one in the lobby. Shortly after I entered someone popped around the corner and had me fill out all the paperwork that I had already sent over via fax. After turning in the paperwork, AGAIN, I was called back within 10-15 minutes(I was the only person in the entire office). I was then escorted around by an obviously new(recently a bartender), very young, employee who showed off all the TVs and new (early 2000’s) technology that they expect to impress and comfort their new patients. Yeah, cool, OK... I was under a serious time constraint, about 1.5hrs, that was made clear from the second I walked in the door. \r
I was scammed. They “evaluated” each one of my teeth and determined they were average/better than average, but somehow there was a problem. ??? Can you not just clean them??? I was told that my insurance covered the cleaning that I had booked but their “standard of care” dictated that I required a deeper cleaning that could only be done by their single professional right then and there. The deep clean would have been over $325 out of pocket. I requested to think about it during my general cleaning and come back for the deep clean, but “I just want to get the general cleaning right now” wasn’t acceptable for this organization. It was not an option. They concluded that in their “professional opinion” (without the Dr involved) I needed a deep clean and thorough scrub –OR- they would not accept me as a new patient. Ouch… Not even another option. So I declined, and was forced to pay $25(more than my deductable) that would “contribute” to their consultation fee. Not my cleaning fee, which my insurance promised that any dentist would cover. Nothing. I gave them $25 Cash and wasted a valuable work hour that could have financially benefited both institutions. They sat down with me, as if in a car financing room, like I didn’t have the money. YES, I have the money to easily buy everything outright, but that isn’t the point!!! No worries, right? NO! Worries. They do not allow you to walk away without dropping over $300. No matter if it be a new appt, general cleaning, or check up. I was told that a basic cleaning was not in their protocol and it had to be a new dental regime started by the Dr.(who I never saw but for a comforting and unexplainable 25 seconds). Anyway, went to a REAL dentist in Dallas who cleaned my teeth, gave some great suggestions, and did not make a feeble attempt to capitalize on every dollar within sniffing range. The real Dr was all within my promised deductible. In closing, please do not settle... There are many more qualified professionals interested in your well being that are less expensive, in-network, and in your area. Trust me… This is a real review!\r
Conclusion: NEVER USE THIS DENTIST. HE IS A SCAM ARTIST WITH NO CONCERN FOR THE BETTERMENT OF HIS PATIENTS!\r
