The closest to Northeast Italian that we've found since we moved here (from the Northeast) 3/31/2008

My husband found A'Roma when he relocated to CA and ate dinner there every night before I moved out. The Ferraris have warmly welcomed us and our families when they visit. It's difficult to find ""real"" Italian food in Orange County (where we now live) after growing up in Boston and NY, and this place offers the real thing. The tomato/mascarpone sauce that comes with the warm focaccia is to die for, and we each get our own little bowl of it. The veal chop and osso bucco are excellent, and we've never, ever had anything we didn't enjoy. The lively bar is great before or after dinner, and the varied wine list is sure to please. I wish we lived closer, as we'd be there at least once a week. Pros: great food, varied menu, large wine list Cons: bar area is on the small side, but we sometimes eat in there as it can be quiet. more

Great Food, Great Service - Great Ownership in a suprisingly good spot 10/24/2007

As a frequent visitor from Texas, and as a frequent traveller, I've always sought to find a ""home"" when out of town. There is no restaurant that has proven to be a better place for me to call home than A'Roma's. A friend and co-worker introduced me to A'Roma, and at first in sampling some of the lesser menu items, I wondered why he found it so good. However, having learned to focus on the better selections... i.e. the veal dishes, and the specials, I've found A'Roma to be an outstanding Italian restaurant. It's family owned, with the owner, his wife and his sons all involved in the business. The bar is quite a friendly place, the focus of the staff is on each customer's happiness, and I've found them very responsive to my requests. Pros: great food, great service, great ownership, etc. Cons: none that i can think of, except that they close at 9:00 pm between Monday and Thursday more

Great Food, Great Service 6/4/2007

When I was looking for the address to this restaurant, I saw the preceding review, and I thought to myself ""There is one disgruntled customer."" The prior review, however, completely and unfairly misrepresents the service at A' Roma Ristorante. Pros: Quality food and good service more

Bad Services 12/19/2006

The services appear to be good until you have a problem. Then they can become very, very rude. I have been a patron there for ten years, until one day I had a miscommunications about reservation, they thought we booked it but we did not commit, then all the decades of patronage went out of window. They actually are trying to charge $215 to my credit card without my authorization. I would caution about giving them your credit card. Pros: Food is good Cons: Service is terrible more

Great evening 2/27/2005

I have had the pleasure of this ""Italian Ristorante"" many times. The food has always been excellent and the service to match... Very nice wine list... and they have even added a small bar for the times you may have a short wait. Several years ago my wife gave me a surprise birthday party with 35 plus people and we all had a great time. Pros: Food, Service, Location more
