Now a waste of money 2/21/2010

I work in the area and for almost 5 years have been going to Scarlet for Manicures and pedicures. Over the past year their service has gone from bad to worse. As I type now, the manicure (the last one I will ever get there) that I got last night is already chipping. They no longer massage your shoulders while you dry, and are clearly only concerned with getting as many people through that store as possible. Most importantly - they are not clean!! Wiping a cuticle cutter with nail polish remover does not sterilize it! For $12 go across the street to Avanti. It is much nicer and more importantly cleaner!! Pros: used to be good Cons: everything more

Horrible Experience 8/26/2009

I went in yesterday for a pedicure and it was the worst one I have gotten for such a ridiculously high price for this kind of place/service. I think they try to market themselves as a nicer day spa, but it is basically just the same (or worse) as the dime-a-dozen nail spas on every block in the city, but w/a higher price tag and for nothing! The technician was unskilled, unprofessional and uninterested, and the end result was mediocre. I could have done a much better job myself and saved $$. Very disappointing. Pros: quick, no frills Cons: expensive, poor service, poor quality more

It's not so bad 6/25/2009

they give good massages without excessive prices and waiting a month for an appointment at a place like Bliss. Basic. Nice. Pros: basic service, pleasant. Cons: yes, their english isn't the best, but basic nail place more

Absolutely Not Professional. period. 9/13/2007

First impression? Well, I recently moved from California. This is the first nail place I visited in nyc. When I asked on prices and things, like 5 people came up to me and tried to talk to me at the same time. I thought, ""What is this? Don't they have ""A"" proper receptionist?"" Anyway, I got to be seated for a pedicure. It was soooooo freaking hot in there. and there were so many fans running to make it cooler, I believe... It made the small place too noisy. I wanted to get out. but it seemed,, a little too late. I should have. more
