I have cancer. I spend a lot of time in and out of this hospital. There are things i love and hate about this hospital. I love the Obgyn care. When I had my baby there, I had received excellent care and service. The nurses while overworked were the best. They gave their whole heart to provide me the most comfortable care possible. As far as some of the other floors, I have experieced poor care. I think this is partially do to the fact that the nurses and staff are just over worked!! I remember ringing for a nurse, and it took them over an hour to come see if I needed anything. I had to beg for towels and soap for a shower. I ended up getting out of bed and going down to the laundry center and begged staff to just give me a weeks worth of towels at once so that i did not have to feel like I bothered anyone. The ladies in laundry are the greatest!! As far as food service is concerned, I really enjoyed the service. At that time i WAS a vegan, and the food service manager called me personally, to make arangements with me, to make sure I was satisfied. We went over a list of menu items to fit my needs for my stay. I was very lucky to have my room swept and mopped. It seemed as if they did not put their heart into making cleanliness a real concern. Overall, my experience at this hospital has not been as possitive as it should have been.
